JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Plan, schedule, control and coordinate engineering tasks according to requirements of work order file, contract specifications, applicable codes and regulations .
SCOPE OF WORK:
Prepare engineering calculations, conduct design drawing reviews, generate flow diagrams and sequences of operations; prepare technical specifications and technical scope of work for subcontract engineering, design, fabrication, and installation; participate in bid evaluation and technical clarification meetings; review all applicable designs and drawings for general layouts, detail design, approval, certified, and ‘as-built’ designs; complete and submit technical specifications, scope of work, requests for quotations, and purchase requisitions for Lead Engineer’s approval; participate in project review and design review meetings for assigned projects; provide technical support to subcontractors; and provide supervision of subcontractors when assigned. Coordinate and oversee all engineering activities and assigned project engineers and review and approve all project engineering work.

• Complete engineering tasks on schedule and within budgetary guidelines
• Prepare and process technical clarification requests
• Fundamental understanding of Customer standards and current project specifications
• Discuss cost issues with Lead Engineer / Project Manager
• Coordinate designs with appropriate management, teams, and functional groups
• Review new designs, concepts, and problem areas with managers to determine an approved action plan
• Prepare calculations, flow diagrams, sequences of operation, specifications, design concepts, bid packages/RFQ’s and any associated purchase requisitions with Lead Engineer for approval
• Review all subcontract drawings, which include approval, certified, and ‘as-built’ designs
• Prepare documentation for owner’s manual to include sequence of operation instructions, maintenance instructions, and spare parts list
• Create and maintain in job file proper documentation of engineering tasks, calculations and sketches and communication with customers and vendors
• Periodically inspect shop fabrication for conformance to design and quality
• Provide technical support to field installation and field startup personnel, including traveling to job sites as required to provide support and/or to complete punch list items
• Provide preliminary start-up documentation for commissioning activities
• Project Engineer shall prepare, and update purchased equipment list
• Project Engineer shall ensure coordination of design with all subcontractors
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Advanced English

- Develops, implements and evaluates quality policies, procedures, and projects and develops resources to assist the operations and manufacturing function to be able to reach quality standards
- Responsible for processes related to production quality and ISO implementation at local level
- Responsible for ensuring that products meet customers' quality standards
- Defines the appropriate and adequate procedures and measures of control for production processes and conducts risk assessments of these processes
- Leads implementation of new regulations, all audits and regulatory inspections and facilitates gaps closings from these
- Coordinates quality training for employees to ensure all individuals have the required level of knowledge
Required Experience
- At least 10 years’ work experience in a continuous manufacturing environment
- Prior experience promoting quality across a facility, addressing issues and performing spot checks
- Prior experience as a visible functional manager, with ability to lead a team, take data and make decisions
- Ability to communicate with customers
- Proactive and hands-on mindset
- Coach who can drive ownership across the entire facility
- Strong communication skills with ability to collaborate across other department and teams, including supply chain, materials, and production
- At least holding Green Belt Six Sigma
- Quality Internal Auditor
- Ability to present to internal and external stakeholders
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Mini Tab
- Holds a Bachelor’s Degree

The purpose of this position is perform maintenance and repairs on Locomotives and associated equipment within the facility to required standards and to level of the individuals level of competency.
