Pipe Stress Engineer

Position General Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience
  • PE License Preferred
  • A proven background in piping/mechanical engineering design, prefer some experience in the chemical and/or petrochemical process industry.
  • Software Skills: Caesar II, NavisWorks, Microsoft Office required, preferred 3D piping design or modeling software such as Aveva E3D, CadWorx, Plant 3d.
  • Experience in Piping Stress Analysis in accordance with ASME B31.3, ASME, API, and BPVC.
Responsibilities: 
  • Calculate and implement PSV Relief force calculations on piping systems
  • Check allowable nozzle loads on fixed and rotating equipment.
  • Review piping and valve specifications to ensure the process conditions are within the boundaries of the specification.
  • Provide piping design input to designers to improve design, and reduces stress in the system.
Additional Details: 
  • Travel could be required
  • Full time 40 hours per week
  • Duration 6+ month contract through Airswift
  • Flexible work schedule, 3 days in office, 2 days from home
