Job Title: Assistant Piping Engineer

The role:
The client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Piping Engineer to support ongoing projects across multiple departments at their Tessenderlo site. Working closely with the lead Piping Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, documentation, and field execution phases of various piping systems within a process-industrial environment.
Responsibilities:

Prepare piping and valve lists.

Order materials and track deliveries, ensuring certification completeness.

Compile construction work packages (CWP) and verify content accuracy.

Cross-check P&IDs with isometric drawings.

Update piping, valve, and sealing specifications.
-
Verify tag accuracy during project closure (valves, piping).
-
Prepare documentation for stress calculations.
-
Assemble design approval files for notified bodies (NOBO).

Support PED certification processes (design and execution).

Assist with piping-related project work and modifications.

Inspect fieldwork in collaboration with site supervision.

Review as-built documentation for final processing.

Prepare flange forms and oversee flange procedures for new-build and modification projects.

Maintain and update project databases.
Qualifications:

Technical diploma in a mechanical field or equivalent experience.

Solid understanding of piping design principles.

Familiarity with standards such as PED, EN, DIN, ASME related to piping and pressure equipment.

Hands-on experience with metallic and plastic piping systems.

Proven background in process industry environments with a strong safety culture.

Strong administrative skills with proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Knowledge of SAP is a plus.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proactive, organized, and solutions-oriented approach.

Fluent in English; Dutch language skills are advantageous.
