Principal Document Controller - Mining
Location: Pinjarra, WA
Contract: 12-months initial contract
Reporting to: Document Control Department Manager
The Client / Project
Our client is a leading EPCM in the mining industry, recognised for delivering large-scale projects that set industry benchmarks. They are currently engaged in a major mining project, requiring the expertise of a Document Controller II to ensure seamless management of critical documentation. The team is known for its collaborative culture, with a strong emphasis on innovation and excellence.
The Role
The Principal Document Controller is responsible for the efficient management of all project-related documentation, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and compliance with relevant standards. This role involves overseeing document control processes, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and maintaining the integrity of the document management system.
Key Responsibilities

Document Management: Establish and maintain document control procedures, ensuring all project documents are accurately registered, filed, and archived.

Compliance and Standards: Ensure all documentation complies with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards.

Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with project teams, clients, and vendors to facilitate the timely exchange of documents.

Training and Support: Provide training to staff on document control procedures and best practices.

Audit and Reporting: Conduct regular audits of the document management system and generate reports as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience: Proven experience in document control, preferably within the engineering, construction, or resources sectors.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in document management software (e.g., Aconex, SharePoint) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with an eye for detail.

Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable Attributes

Experience with Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS).

Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
