The role of the Principal Technical Safety Engineer is to:
- Perform as Technical Authority for Technical Safety Discipline.
- Assist to plan, define, award and manage various Engineering Contractor’s technical deliverables for both basic engineering and detailed design.
- Ensure compliance with Client basis of design and corporate specifications.
- Prepare, interface with client and maintain a deviation request list with regards to all Client specifications.
- Prepare project-specific discipline-related technical specifications and drawings with regards to all Client, Company and Classification Society requirements.
- Ensure that all contractors and vendors meet the contractual, Classification Society and technical requirements related to technical safety discipline.
- Responsible for ensuring development and consolidation of safety-discipline engineering registers/lists, using input from the other disciplines.
- Arrange and manage the Safety Studies.
- Ensure compliance with Safety Studies recommendations and best practices.
- Travel as required
- Assist to develop the team of Technical Safety Engineers and act as the Technical Authority for the company in this area.
- Support business development/tendering, project execution and from time to time, operating units.
- Degree qualified in a technical subject
- 15 years’ experience in a lead role with FPSO contractors.
- Good use of Word and Excel
- Good use of Navisworks
- Able to write Technical Reports
- Experience of FPSO projects
- Experienced in Technical Safety
- Proven experience of reviewing & commenting on deliverables from contractors
