Our client is seeking a Project Engineer to work within their facilities located in Regional Northern Territory on a 12-month initial contract.

Job Overview:

Due to a period of expansion, our client is seeking to add a Project Engineer to join their site-based team working on a construction expansion project within an underground gold mine located in regional Northern Territory. This role will be FIFO and will be offered on a 14:7 roster.

Acting as the primary technical co-ordination interface, the role will manage and coordinate electrical and instrumentation related engineering deliverables to ensure key project milestones are achieved on time and within budget.

Ideally the client is looking for a seasoned project engineer with experience within Brownfield projects in the Mining and Minerals sector. Previous underground mining experience will be highly regarded.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate engineering activities to ensure projects are executed in a safe, efficient, cost effective and timely manner.
  • Act as primary technical co-ordination interface with client to ensure that expectations are satisfied.
  • Ensure the project conforms to the client's approved Basis of Design and all applicable regulatory and code requirements.
  • Maintain HSE focus within the team to ensure OHSE requirements included in design and procurement.
  • Establish, maintain and build healthy relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactively resolve performance, scope and schedule issues with the Client as they arise and ensure compliance with requirements of the contract.
  • Monitor cost aspects of the project within direct control and forecast final costs, identify trends and take action to avoid cost overruns.
  • Focus team members on achievement of milestones and other key project objectives.
  • Accurate, timely and effective reporting to the Project Manager.
  • Monitor the closure of all identified risks in the risk register and proactively search for other areas in the project which may be a risk in the future.
  • Set clear objectives to the design team and manage inter-discipline interfaces effectively.
  • Ensure the design team aware of, and complies with, client's requirements and applicable regulations and codes.
  • Assist as required the procurement processes throughout the project to ensure goods meet specification, are delivered on time and are within budget.

What you will bring:

  • Substantial Electrical and Instrumentation design and drafting experience in the Mining Industry, or similar.
  • Previous underground mining experience highly regarded.
  • Previous technical, practical and leadership experience in Project Engineering within Electrical and Instrumentation deliverables and proven experience in leading a discipline design group.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • A recognized bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
