You will oversee a range of engineering activities, covering the cement facility retrofitting, carbon capture plant, alternative fuel workshops, jetty construction, and associated utilities (high voltage substations, wastewater treatment, etc.).
Your role spans the entire engineering process from basic design to execution, technical documentation management, and coordination with vendors and subcontractors.
In this role, you will ensure that all engineering activities meet the project’s technical, budgetary, and timeline requirements. You will work closely with the Permitting Manager on technical aspects, manage engineering teams, and drive collaboration with external contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
Engineering Management:
Oversee all project engineering activities, ensuring compliance with project requirements and safety standards.
Review and approve technical documentation from subcontractors and vendors, ensuring it meets project specifications.
Lead project reviews (HSED, constructability, design), ensuring engineering solutions are cost-effective and compliant.
Coordinate technical documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness for construction phases.
Proactively address technical issues and resolve coordination challenges between designers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Procurement and Subcontracting:
Prepare technical sections of contracts for engineering, procurement, and construction.
Lead technical clarifications and negotiations with vendors, ensuring equipment and materials meet project specifications and industry regulations.
Ensure vendors and subcontractors meet their technical obligations and deliver quality documentation.
Construction Oversight:
Provide technical support during construction, ensuring modifications or non-conformities are addressed promptly.
Ensure timely delivery of all necessary technical documentation to the site management team.
Participate in construction and commissioning schedules, coordinating actions of technical teams to meet job site requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (advanced degree preferred).
Proven experience in engineering management, especially in heavy industries (cement, power plants, oil and gas).
Experience with large-scale industrial projects and a strong understanding of safety protocols.

We are seeking an experienced Principal Access and Approvals Specialist, who will be responsible for supporting land acquisition and approvals (including permits, licences), for our client's projects in Norway. As part of this roles you will strategically support land and approval requirements and integrate with project teams to adequately plan, schedule and deliver these requirements in line with our client's standards and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Norway Projects team to ensure that land access, permitting and approval processes are delivered effectively and in line with the agreed project schedules.
- Coordinating with multiple functions in the business to identify, apply, and secure necessary approvals, permits, licenses and consents in a timely manner and in line with agreed project schedules. This will likely include primary approvals (i.e. ESIAs, rezoning etc.) as well as secondary approvals required for building, construction, safety and operations.
- Ensuring that all applicable regulatory requirements are identified and communicated to Project and Commercial teams.
- Supporting with the engagement of government agencies, NGO’s and other stakeholder groups as part of the land access, permitting and approvals process.
- Supporting the development of scopes for consultants, engaged as required for approvals, permits and land access requirements.
- Manage work undertaken by approval consultancies and coordinate the exchange of information between the consultancy, project team and internal subject matter experts.
- Supporting land access negotiations with landholders, government entities etc.
- Supporting discussions with local municipality and other regulatory agencies as required for the preparation, assessment and grant of approvals, permits, licenses and consents. • Coordinate compliance against obligations and conditions received as part of granted approvals or negotiated land Agreements.
- Ensure access and approvals planning, progress and obligations are adequately maintained in systems such as (but not limited to) approval and permitting strategy and schedule, approval and access plans, schedules, risk registers, obligations registers and land management systems.
- Technical review of permitting documents, supporting studies and scopes of work.
- Tracking and reporting on project permitting status.
Critical Skills & Personal Attributes:
- Experience in a permitting and regulatory role within the resources sector, energy industry or equivalent
- Significant experience in land and water access/acquisitions
- Significant experience and subject matter expertise in the identification, procurement, and management of regulatory approvals in the renewable/resource industry for large scale projects
- Major project greenfield permitting and approval experience in Norway
- Experience in Norwegian Municipality spatial planning, would be beneficial
- Degree qualified or equivalent tertiary qualifications and/or relevant work / industry experience in technical area within the renewables/resource industry (e.g., Engineering, Environment, Legal)
- Demonstrated ability and experience in interfacing and influencing regulators, stakeholders and senior management
- Strong negotiation skills
- Experience working within regulatory and legal frameworks
- Knowledge of permitting requirements, environmental management and impact mitigation methodologies, relevant to energy generation, linear infrastructure, port and industrial processes
- Experienced in navigating corporate and joint venture governance and approval processes.
- Proficiency in risk identification and budget forecasting
- Highly organized and ability to manage work across multiple jurisdictions.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship building/collaboration skills.
- Proficient in Norwegian and English

One of the world’s largest independent commodities trading houses by turnover. Several major projects are being planned.
All projects are in the FEED phase and site preparations have started. He/she will participate in the project teams during the FEED, the detailed engineering, the construction, mechanical completion, the commissioning and start-up phase of the projects. He/she is responsibility for high quality electrical engineering deliverables, prepared by the engineering contractors during FEED and Detail Engineering and reviews key vendor documents. The sr. electrical engineer will be responsible for all aspects of the electrical designs, identifies & resolves non-compliances and works with others to resolve Electrical issues.

Position Description: As a member of the Project team, he / she contributes to the maturing the projects and provide discipline expertise. The selected person will be responsible:
- Review and approve project documents.
- Assuring consistent application of standards and manages the control of any justifiable deviations.
