Candidates are required to fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
The project will consider people from an Underground construction background who already hold and Cert IV in Safety.
- Support and advise Site contractors and supervisors with the implementation of the Project Health, Safety and Environment Management Plan (HSEMP).
- Support and advise Site Contractors and supervisors with Statutory compliance and Health Safety deliverables.
- Undertake HSE duties as directed by Senior HSE Advisor consistent with the requirements of the HSE Management System.
- Participate and input into the update of the Project HSEMP and other Health and Safety Procedures and Plans.
- Input into the Site Health, Safety and Environment Risk Register and Hazard Management Program.
- Participate in Construction Risk Assessment Workshops and associated actions for all site activities.
- Review of Journey Management Plans.
- Liaison with the Contractors’ HSE teams to focus on achieving best practice.
- Influence, coach and mentor contractors’ own HSE personnel.
- Participate in HSE meetings with contractor personnel.
- Attend contractor pre-start shift meetings.
- Prepare and deliver HSE site inductions and training as required.
- Monitor adherence to HSE strategies to ensure the HSE objectives are met.
- Undertake planned inspection and auditing of contractors to their HSEMP requirements.
- Identify and control potential HSE risks and hazards.
- Ensure that incidents are thoroughly investigated, and injuries are properly managed.
- Ensuring that Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) are conducted and approved prior to performing each task.

- A strong knowledge of the relevant HSE legislation and standards.
- Experience working on Underground mine sites.
- Experience as an HSE Advisor within mining industry.
- A basic understanding of integrated management systems.
- Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to engage all stakeholders.
- Extensive technical, practical and leadership experience in HSE. Including experience in underground mining, strategic planning and demonstrable experience in driving industry leadership in HSE performance. Experience in building strong people relationships, general management practices and experience in managing and leading a team.
