Position Overview: The Project Scheduler- Operations Readiness report to the Lead Specialist, Operations Readiness within the Company's Operations Readiness organization. This position is responsible for working closely with technical experts, operations readiness leads, and the project management team (PMT) in the planning, creating, and managing project and program execution schedules.
Responsibilities & Essential Duties:
- Develop & maintain project schedules in Primavera (P6) while providing as well as providing support in the forecasting of delivery timelines
- Create, update, and analyze operations readiness schedules and schedule reports.
- Facilitates Interactive Planning Sessions, where key project stakeholders plan and discuss the major project tasks, interaction with other tasks.
- Review each schedule activity with project stakeholders to confirm logic and duration.
- Resource load discreet schedule activities, based on estimated hours.
- Ensure overall discipline task durations are workable and achievable given resource constraints.
- Develop and issue the project baseline schedule and basis
- Update the project schedule, on a weekly basis.
- Analyze schedule updates, review critical path, review schedule performance indicators, review schedule variances from last update and baseline.
- Accountable for accurate and timely schedule reports, including variance analysis, critical path, summary, and detailed schedules.
- Actively participate in project review meetings, providing clear and accurate schedule assessment.
- Ability to work schedule and organize multiple projects within a portfolio or program.
Knowledge and Skills:
The individual will have a broad understanding of project management principles and schedule development with an operations environment. The right candidate will have experience working in an operations readiness or operations scheduling role.
Qualifications:
- Preferred Engineering degree in engineering in process, chemical, mechanical or electrical disciplines or 5-7 years’ experience in Oil & Gas operations and a preferred exposure to Operations Readiness.
- Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)qualification is a preference.
Experience:
- Five (5) to Seven (7) years’ experience as a Project Schedule or Site Operations Schedule/Planner. Recent experience with LNG is preferred, however, refining, petrochemical, NGL, cryogenic natural gas processing, or other hydrocarbon processing experience may be acceptable.
Skills:
- Intermediate to advanced level in the use of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Access, Project and PowerPoint.
- Intermediate to advanced level in the use of Primavera P6 scheduling
- Intermediate PowerBi skills.
- Strong stakeholder management and coordination skills
- An acute sensitivity to safety issues in a hazardous environment.
- Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization and with individuals and groups from different disciplines
- Able to work with a culturally diverse group of technical individuals whose skills cover the range required to engineer, operate and maintain the LNG terminal and Liquefaction production facilities.
- Possess the personality and ability to relate to and to establish a mutually respectful relationship with 1) management, 2) peers and 3) the various facility level workers (Plant Manager, plant supervision and plant workers) whom are all responsible for ensuring good operations.
