Our client is seeking a Project QA/QC Coordinator to ensure that the quality management requirements regarding subcontractors performance are being identified and managed effectively. This is  a mineral sands mine in south-western New South Wales (NSW), known as the Balranald Mineral Sands Project
Responsibilities: 
  • Work with the Project Quality Manager to ensure site process controls and prerequisite verification and inspection arrangements are established for construction activities
  • Review of contract terms and specifications to ensure clear understanding of technical requirements and prerequisite verification and certification requirements.
  • Undertake and/or coordinate technical review of subcontractor data submissions including; quality plans, process and personnel qualifications and construction records and certification.
  • Chair pre-inspection meetings when specified by the Project Quality Manager and follow-up implementation and closeout of agreed actions.
  • Ensure site inspection personnel and vendors activities meet project requirements and are undertaken in line with applicable Worley/regulatory obligations
  • Witness/review of subcontractor process, personnel qualification, inspection, and test activities in accordance with approved inspection test plans.
  • Facilitate client or independent (Third Party) verification activities as specified in agreed inspection and test plans.
  • Monitor subcontractor non-conformance and corrective action processes, and where necessary, raise non-conformance notes and facilitate disposition of non-conforming works. 
  • Analyse and report on subcontractor performance for input into re-qualification and management review processes.
  • Determine areas of potential improvement in site quality management processes
To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes:
  • Tertiary/trade qualifications in a related discipline
  • Thorough understanding of the principles and practice of construction inspection management Experience in managing a team of quality practitioners.
  • ASQ certification
  • Quality management/control or inspector certification
  • Brownfields projects, LNG projects, EPC, EPCM experience (essential)
Good computing skills including the use of MS Word, MS Excel and intranet based applications i.e. SharePoint
