Job Summary and Purpose
Ensure company quality assurance / quality control policies are implemented and adhered to at shipbuilding sites for the newbuilding programs. Manage the QA/QC activities of the Shipping Project Management Team with responsibility for timely production and distribution of routine progress reports to the project shareholders. Coordinate the lessons learned program and maintain continual audit compliance in all areas of the sub project. Implement a document control system, including hardware and software at all project locations in-line with company requirements, ensuring proper entry and identification of all documents into the project's data management system.
Accountabilities
Key Accountabilities:
- Manage the QA/QC activities for Shipping, consistent with Nakilat policies.
- Perform inspections of shipbuilder’s facilities to confirm QA/QC compliance & reports in accordance with the Nakilat requirements.
- Monitor the effectiveness of shipyard initiatives for quality assurance. Execution of Quality Management Programs and achieving quality objectives at different building sites. Prepare and implement audit program.
- Ensure overall audit compliance. Conduct sub project level internal audits to assure the shipping team of non-conformances at audits.
- Coordinate lessons learned, documenting all lessons learned in a systemized fashion and ensure information is cascaded appropriately, follow up items to closure, provide reports and organize lesson learned workshops on an annual basis or when deemed necessary by the SPMT.
- Utilize and implement “leading indicator” and “KPI” tools to support management in monitoring performance and striving for continuous improvements throughout the shipbuilding program.
- Provide monthly report to the Shipbuilding Director and chair the monthly Quality Leadership Meeting.
- Set-up and maintain the data management program for identifying and recording all documents in the project’s data base. Coordinate and ensure adequate IT systems connectivity and equipment facilities are available to the project.
- Supervise administrative support personnel who will perform the actual day-to-day tasks of document identification and entry in accordance with the approved procedures.
- Maintain the project action calendar and advise the Shipbuilding Director and Team Leaders when due dates are approaching ( for example, return dates for plan approval action).
- Track and update the project administration budget, including the office budget and site budgets.
- Prepare regular budget reports to the Shipbuilding Director, including summaries of actual expenditures to date, projected expenditures to close-out, and full variance reports.
- Input all actuals expenses into the project budget system to facilitate the preparation of regular budget reports to the Shipbuilding Director, including summaries of actual expenditures to date, projected expenditures to close-out, and full variance reports.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Science.
Experience:
- Minimum twelve (12) years’ experience in the oil and gas industry including involvement in design and construction or major conversion of large vessels, including at least five (5) years of direct experience with conducting audits and in implementing QA/QC policies, or equivalent experience.
- In-depth knowledge of 1S0 standards. quality policy and implementation.
- Knowledge of the ship design and construction business.
- Knowledge of international codes and regulatory requirements, and company management systems. including ability to develop management processes to meet shipping project expectations.
