Job Title: Quality Engineer

The role:
The Quality Engineer will collaborate with the Head of Quality, project teams, and construction teams at the Port of Rotterdam. The primary objective is to oversee all aspects of quality assurance and control, ensuring compliance with project specifications and the compilation of Life Time Quality Records (LTQRs) for client approval.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with Quality Programmes and project specifications.
- Review contract documents for quality assurance and inspection requirements, obtaining client approval.
- Ensure Site ITPs are followed, and appropriate documentation is signed off.
- Compile Life Time Records and O&M manuals.
- Support project managers with QA/QC documents and quality-related activities.
- Resolve QA/QC queries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist project and construction teams with quality-related queries.
- Provide ongoing training in Quality continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and support effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Review and close quality complaints, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Monitor and report on the quality management system’s effectiveness, recommending improvements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities within the quality department.
Qualifications:
- Recognized degree or equivalent in Quality Management (Diploma or HNC preferred).
- Internal auditing qualification; Auditor/Lead Auditor certification preferred.
- Over 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance, preferably with a background in fabrication/welding and steel structure construction.
- Experience with ISO 9001, BSEN1090, and other industry standards.
- Project experience, particularly in Civil Nuclear Defence or COMAH sites, is preferable.
- Lead auditor qualification and experience leading 3rd party audits.
- Ability to generate quality procedures, work instructions, quality plans, and lifetime records.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to improvements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
