Our client seeks a Quantity Surveyor to join the Tanami project team on site on a 2 and 1 rotation from Perth, Brisbane or Darwin. On offer is an initial 12 month contract
The Quantity Surveyor will manage all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures.
Tanami is on Aboriginal freehold land 540km northwest of Alice Springs. It is a long-life, low-cost, world-class asset in a core region. The Tanami Expansion 2 project, aims to extend the mine life beyond 2040, investing in a hoisting shaft which will increase the production of the underground mine from 2.6 Mtpa to 3.2 Mtpa.
Responsibilities:
- Tracking, monitoring, and controlling costs during the project life cycle
- Interpret specification and standards and assess their impact on project costs
- Using Planning-Budgeting-Forecasting cost control model to increase profitability by identifying the variances between these cost elements
- Creation of tender event schedules for procurement programs
- Budget/ Tender reconciliation, change management and variance analysis
- Quantification and costing of construction work
- Quantity Take-off and preparing Bills of Quantities
- Prepare estimates, quantities, prices, costing for project
- Interface with Project managers and Engineers to best manage risks and opportunities
- Tertiary or Trade Qualification in Quantity Surveying
- Have demonstrated experience in all aspects of quantity surveying in Mining or Civil projects
- Excellent commercial management skills including interpreting and applying contract terms and legislation provisions
- Sound working knowledge of project management principles and project control applications
- Negotiation and influencing experience to achieve desired outcomes
