Relay Planner
Airswift is looking for a Relay Planner to join one of our major utility clients in Winter Garden, FL on a one-year contract basis. This will be a full-time hybrid role. Candidates must be local to Central Florida.

Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

A relay planner will plan and schedule all activities associated with Relay construction and maintenance.
Candidates are expected have complex skills and the ability to work with minimal technical oversight and lead construction and maintenance activities scheduling calls of any complexity.
The Relay planner is expected to have proficient working knowledge in the calibration, installation, maintenance, and operation of the following: protective relays and associated equipment which will ensure the efficient, safe, reliable, and NERC Reliability Standards compliant operation of the Company’s Energy Generating plants, Transmission and Distribution networks.
This position will be responsible for planning and sequencing in complex, multiphase relay construction and maintenance activities.
Candidates are expected have complex technical skills and interpersonal skills to ensure safe and productive project execution.
Candidates will also be responsible for coordinating with Transmission, Distribution, and Generation leadership, and resolve technical issues.
Responsible to practice and set an example of safe project planning and scheduling.
Must possess good communication skills, including working with others to create good working conditions.
Support of corporate, group, department and unit goals including compliance with the Company’s Energy Supplier Code of Conduct.
Review and critique isolation procedures and project sequencing.
Provides peer level P&C technical support.
Remain focused under internal and external pressures, leads team while under pressure and ensures all distractions are eliminated.
Can plan and sequence any construction or maintenance activities, within any station, no matter the sensitivity and complexity.
Has working knowledge and experience at installing, commissioning, testing and troubleshooting carriers, tone equipment, traps and tuners, MP or EM relays.
Can lead teams to ensure documentation and files are accurate and submitted in timely fashion with no issues.

Required Qualifications

10+ years of Relay experience performing field protection, SCADA, and Control work.
Candidates must demonstrate basic computer skills.
Self-motivated with good leadership qualities that include good planning and scheduling decision making skills.

Job Description:

Responsible for planning and sequencing complex construction and maintenance activities, including equipment outage sequence, temporary facilities installations.
Incumbents are expected to have complex technical skills and interpersonal skills to ensure safe and productive project execution.
Incumbents will also be responsible for coordinating with Transmission, Distribution, and Generation leadership, and resolving technical matters.

The successful candidate shall be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and advisor on Distribution Line Construction with fifteen years of experience at a minimum. The SME supports a diverse Project Team to achieve company objectives and is primarily responsible for providing technical support on the execution of Distribution Line Construction activities. The SME will report to the Lab Operations Center in St. Petersburg, Florida.

The SME should possess the leadership skills to support Craft and Engineering Stakeholders.
The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the execution of the work to meet the Program Objectives.
The SME shall ensure that Craft and Engineering stakeholders adhere to safe work practices, distribution engineering standards, work methods, and procedures.
The candidate will be the go-to person for any construction concerns that the crew has regarding construction projects.
The candidate must be familiar with Company safe-work practices, standards, work methods and procedures.

The Project Manager will provide specialized technical expertise and judgment to resolve complex siting issues, manage work, and provide support to others in Siting, potentially with minimal supervision and increased latitude for unreviewed work.
