We are seeking a Reporting Accountant to work in Aberdeen on a 12+ months contract role!


The Reporting Accountant ensures accurate financial reporting in accordance with the timelines set in the Shareholders Agreement and in compliance with external regulations. The Reporting Accountant is primarily responsible for consolidated financial management reporting and external financial reporting. The role supports the Group Accounting Lead in preparation of group reporting requirements, plan/reforecasts and month end close.


Accountabilities
• Supports the Group Accounting Lead with preparation and review of accurate legal entity financial statements for the company and its subsidiaries
• Working with the Group Accounting Lead, responsible for ensuring monthly reports are accurate and in accordance with the timelines agreed with management and shareholders
• Working with the Group Accounting Lead and using S/4 Hana functionality, establish, maintain and improve appropriate processes for the efficient production of group financial reporting and legal entity financial statements
• Maintain a firm understanding of the threat Cyber Attacks pose in both regular IT (Information Technology) and OT (Operational Technology / industrial automation) environments and the potential consequences of such attacks



Key Duties

Legal Entity Financial Statements
• Preparation and review of annual legal entity financial statements for the company and its subsidiaries, including consolidated financial statements prepared under IFRS
• Preparation of financial information for Board meetings
• In conjunction with the tax team, supply accurate information as required for tax provisioning, tax returns and for tax planning purposes
Monthly Financial Reporting
Assist Group Accounting lead with monthly reporting, including:
• Review of monthly income statement, balance sheet and cashflow statement over the month end close period, with aim to ensure required elements are booked as required and understood
• Collate variance analysis on key metrics of production, opex, capex and abex on a monthly basis for management reporting
• Assist with preparation of monthly financial reporting package for group financial reporting and supporting analysis
• Liaise with external auditors throughout the group and statutory audits



Financial Accounting
Assumes primary responsibility for:
• Fixed assets, DD&A & impairment
• ARO
• Controls coordination
• Defined benefit pension scheme reporting
• Key account reconciliation preparation
And will be required to assist with other areas of Financial Accounting on an ad hoc basis
Fixed Assets
• Management of Fixed Asset Module in S/4 Hana, ensuring fixed asset transactions are accurately recorded to include the creation of asset masters and AUC assets
• Month end calculation of DD&A rates within S/4 Hana
• Maintain Fixed Asset Register
• Capex Reporting to include all aspects of DD&A, additions, derecognition, impairment etc. for corporate reporting purposes
• Settlement of assets under construction and maintenance of settlement rules
• Asset accounting overview

Education Attainment & Accreditation
• Professional Accounting Designation or equivalent
Professional Skills & Experience
• Relevant post-designation experience
• Oil and gas industry experience preferred
• SAP experience essential
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office required, including substantial experience in Excel
