Airswift is working in partnership with a leading offshore drilling contractor provider, with a fleet comprising of drillships, jack-up’s, semi-sub’s and tender rigs for operations in shallow to ultra-deepwater areas in harsh and benign environments. 

The company are looking to hire a Riser Analysis Engineer to be based in Houston. The company has almost every rig contracted and are looking to fill skill gaps within their organization to support the continued demand and growth of the business. The Riser Analysis Engineer will not just perform analysis but also provide a vital link between the offshore teams and customers. The individual will therefore need to switch communication styles according to the audience; from clear and concise, to detailed and technical. As the company is a contractor, the individual will also need to adapt to working in a fast-paced environment where priorities and work can frequently change and shift in accordance with client expectations and decisions.

Job Duties:

  • Perform riser analysis based on fleet requests
  • Perform marine drilling engineering work related to the design and analysis of drilling riser systems
  • Using DeepRiser software, ensure each floater has a riser analysis per well as per company directive requirements
  • Create & analyze FEA models for Top Tension Risers in accordance with API16Q
  • Assist in development of templates and code checking tools to facilitate increased efficiencies and accurate analysis of drilling risers
  • Run Drift-off Analysis for semi-submersibles and drillships
  • Perform Transit Analysis with suspended BOP
  • Perform riser Hang-off Analysis
  • Advise and assist with the creation of Well Specific Operating Guidelines for rigs
  • Liaise with third party riser analysis provider and be the focal point for the company
  • Handle rig/customer technical queries regarding riser management
  • Assist in performance of quality assurance tasks, work scope definition, and project planning
Essential Skills:
  • At least  2 years of work experience writing reports and performing analysis
  • Prior experience performing analysis with tools such as DeepRiser, Flexcom or OrcaFlex
  • Exposure to FEA analysis
  • Holds a Bachelor’s in Engineering
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities accordingly
  • Self-aware individual who can effectively communicate with different internal and external stakeholders
