JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Offshore
• Pilot the ROV, working closely with the Senior ROV Pilot.
• Ensure that the ROV and all systems and subsystems are in complete working order and in compliance with all technical requirements while the ROV is offshore and in use.
• Assist in the launch, recovery, and operation of the ROV system and winch.
• Carry out dives in accordance with recognized operating procedures in order to perform designated work safely and efficiently.
• Tether Management.
• Navigate, observe, and perform all other duties related to the operation of manipulators and ancillary equipment fitted to the ROV.
• Perform all pre-dive checks.
• Communicate with the Senior ROV Pilot immediately during the dive of any faults or deficiencies encountered during the Dive.
• Complete the dive log for all dives.
• Maintain and repair the ROV System and subsystem under the supervision of the Senior ROV Pilot / Team Lead.
• Submit requests to the Senior ROV Pilot / Team Lead for re-ordering of ROV spares and consumables as required.
• Communicate all safety incidents to the Senior ROV Pilot immediately.
• Ability to review and suggest improvements to preventive ROV maintenance plan
• Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings on a daily basis
• To ensure safe working practice at all times
• Ensure tracking and proper use of EM&I property
• Maintain visibility of EM&I equipment
• Liaise with customer representatives immediately after arrival on site
• Carry out risk assessment with client representative
• Monitor progress and keep the client informed on a daily basis
• Check all equipment prior to work commences and report to the Senior ROV Pilot, accordingly, prepare equipment for backload with full manifest following completion of the work scope. Record/report any equipment/tooling to remain onsite.
• Monitor the status of all offshore equipment and report any damage to equipment by filing Equipment Status Report.
• Follow the schedule of workscope plan and ensure the work scopes of the project finish in the agreed time frame.
• Carry out EM&I proprietary diverless services (ODIN®) which include:
- Carry out Mooring Chain Inspections, cleaning (use of cavitation blaster), and measurements (use of calliper set).
- Hull Side Shell Repairs.
- Sea Chest Blanking
- Valve Plugging
Onshore
• QHSE knowledgeable and committed.
• Understanding of Risk Based methods, Class and Regulatory requirements.
• Maintain and repair the ROV System and subsystem when required.
General
• Recognize potential areas for improvement/cost saving opportunities for both EM&I and the client
• Recognize potential areas for improvement on equipment used to complete the workscope.
• Recognize potential areas for improvement on work methods and procedures.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience in maintaining and flying a class II Observation ROV according to the class system laid out in IMCA R 004.
• Minimum three years working offshore as an ROV Pilot piloting and maintaining ROVs.
• ROV control, navigation, and propulsion systems.
• Ability to direct operation of ROV System.
• Safety and survival training to meet customers and industry requirements.
