Senior Civil Designer – Perth, WA

You will bring your years of civil design expertise to Worley and join a high performing team who will value your diverse background and as well innovative thinking which suits brownfield expansion projects and sustaining capital works.
Responsibilities:
- Work under the supervision of the lead structural/civil engineer to support a team of engineers and designers in delivering civil design projects, including underground services, drainage design, access roads, and construction pads.
- Assist in the technical governance activities of the project, including reviewing work completed by remote offices.
- Perform various supporting tasks such as attending meetings, preparing progress reports, following checking procedures, ensuring clarity of project scope, and managing changes according to project change management processes.
- Provide assistance and advice during procurement, construction, and commissioning activities, which may involve tasks like writing requisitions, evaluating technical bids, and preparing purchase orders.
- Take on the role of civil engineering lead for specific projects, involving scope management, overseeing junior engineers, and coordinating with other disciplines to ensure successful project delivery.
- Proactively address any discrepancies between Worley and the project requirements set by BP (the customer).
- Communicate effectively with the civil engineering team and project stakeholders, including the customer.
- Identify and resolve issues, develop suitable solutions, and seek assistance when needed.
Qualifications
- Awarded a 2 or 3 year technical diploma with discipline specific training or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- 15 years plus experience in civil design in the mining, energy and/or infrastructure sector
- Prior experience of working within medium to large projects within multidiscipline environment is desirable but not essential.
- Prior experience in supervising a small design team.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Be highly driven with a focus on delivery and service.
Technical and Industry Experience
- Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Worley and its customers.
- A sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Competent use of civil engineering specific software.
- Familiar with software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD and CIVIL3D package will be advantageous.
- Exposure to oil and gas facilities is desirable but not required.
- Agile with working in multiple platforms and environment including the use of 365 suite and various other collaboration tools.
- Experience in delivering complex civil engineering project in a multi-disciplinary projects and diverse teams.
