We are currently recruiting for a Senior Civil Engineer to be placed in Cologne and would be on a 12-month contract with the view of this moving into a permanent position. The main function is to provide civil engineering services for our client, offering technical support and supervision within the civil engineering team.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver civil engineering services that meet our client's specifications, as well as applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, within time and budget constraints.
  • Initiate, lead, and supervise civil engineering projects as needed.
  • Participate in relevant meetings, prepare progress reports, and adhere to necessary control procedures.
  • Ensure that project scope is clear and that changes are managed according to project change management procedures.
  • Provide support and advice for procurement, construction, and commissioning activities, including writing requisitions, performing technical bid evaluations, and preparing purchase orders.
  • Lead civil engineering efforts on specific projects when required.
  • Actively promote teamwork, delegate tasks appropriately, and monitor progress to ensure that project deliverables meet client and statutory requirements on time and within budget.
  • Proactively resolve discrepancies between client requirements and project outcomes.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments and technical innovations in civil engineering.
  • Support junior team members within the civil engineering team as needed.
  • Maintain effective communication with the civil engineering team and project stakeholders, including clients.
  • Identify issues, develop suitable solutions, and seek assistance when necessary.
  • Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills, with the ability to consistently deliver high-quality, accurate, and timely work for our client.
  • Strong understanding of the basic requirements of civil engineering and the basic requirements of other engineering fields.
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable local and international standards, as well as statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Competence in using civil engineering software and relevant tools like MS Office Suite.
  • Extensive technical and practical experience in civil engineering within the same or a similar industry, including experience working on multidisciplinary projects and teams.







Skills / Qualifications
  • Recognized and relevant engineering degree.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status.
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications in engineering, management, project management, or supervision, or equivalent qualifications.
