Senior Civil Engineer 

 

The role responsibilities include:

  • Reporting to the lead civil engineer, you will be completing civil design of open and closed drainage structures, retaining walls, laydown and hardstands, underground drainage network and general civil design around processing plant.
  • Prepare calculation packages in support of the design.
  • Complete checking work of other civil engineers.
  • Advise lead engineer when project scope is not clear and that assist with changes to comply with project change management processes.
  • Proactively resolve any discrepancies between company and its client project requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with the structural engineering team and project stakeholders, including the Customer.
  • Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.

 

What you’ll have

  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering or relevant undergraduate degree.
  • Extensive experience in structural engineering design in the mining, energy and/or infrastructure sector.
  • Familiar with software such as MicroStation and AutoCAD would be beneficial.
  • Keen attitude to learn new design tools as well different modes project delivery.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Be highly driven with a focus on delivery and service.
  • Highly effective technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to company and its customers.
  • A sound knowledge of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in using of civil engineering specific software such as Drains, StormCAD or similar.
  • Experience in Heavy Pavement design.
  • Exposure to MWRA design standards is desirable.
  • Agile with working in multiple platforms and environment including the use of 365 suite and various other collaboration tools.
