Our major client is seeking a Sr Contract Specialist to work within their facilities located in Houston, TX for a 12-month assignment (subject to extension).

Job Responsibilities:
  • Deploy contracting plan with an emphasis on value driven commercial strategies, performance, safety, and capital efficiency.
  • Through service requirement assessments, category plans, business partner engagement, and market analytics, identify sourcing opportunities and commercial strategies.
  • Oversee complex category sourcing projects.
  • Responsibilities also include supplier solicitation, negotiations, contract drafting and execution, supplier enablement, and supplier relationship management.
  • Perform market and peer analysis and leverage supply chain knowledge to understand and articulate market trends, which may impact internal stakeholders and category strategies.
  • Serve as a commercial subject matter expert having a detailed understanding of offshore international Drilling and Completions services in support of Supply Chain requirements.
  • Develop and Sustain campaign Supplier Management Program
  • Utilize SRM to develop a strategic approach to managing the relationships of the campaigns key suppliers with a focus on creative innovation options across major categories.
  • Identify and maintain relationships with major category suppliers gathering insight to better understand suppliers key differentiations, technology roadmaps and business modes with the goal of identifying opportunities to improve the overall quality and delivery of products and services.
  • Ensure compliance to contract terms, both legal and commercial (including value delivery). Provide effective overview of supplier performance to contract and support operational teams if performance issues arise.
  • Continuous improvement & delivery of value-add solutions.
  • Challenge business plans where alternate opportunities exist to deliver higher value outcomes, ensuring all options have been duly evaluated with Business Partners.

Requirements:
  • Minimum will have 7-10 years' experience in similar role/s.
  • Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or similar discipline preferred
  • The emphasis for this role is international offshore D&C expertise.
  • Understanding of international offshore Drilling and Completions, with experience in identifying and executing sustainable opportunities for value creation (cost savings, cost avoidance) and risk reduction.
  • Must have a high level of experience in offshore Drilling and Completions operations, (preferably international, specifically West Africa) with both technical and commercial knowledge.
  • Must to have ability to coordinate stakeholder relationships across the operations and supply chain teams to ensure an optimized and aligned commercial approach.
  • Solid understanding of implementing contract strategy framework for offshore Drilling and Completions services including market insight, business partnering, negotiation, and ongoing supplier management and governance.
  • Proven record in developing negotiation strategies and conduct supplier negotiations with the capability to meet targets, manage concessions and deliver results.
  • Evident history of value delivery through identification and implementation of innovative sourcing strategies.
  • Capability of high quality, well-structured communications, both written and verbal to ensure linkage with business strategies and drive understanding of the resulting impact.
  • Experience managing offshore drilling and completions related services and tangibles and related supply markets.
  • Computer Proficiencies: Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required. SAP experience is a plus.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)
