Position: Senior Cost Estimator
Location: Brisbane, QLD
Duration: 12 months
Roster: Mon – Fri & 8 hours per day
As Senior Cost Estimator, you will be supporting the cost estimating team to deliver market competitive cost estimates aligned with Business objectives. The role spans all cost estimating activities including value optimization, cost database management, benchmarking, data and risk analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Work independently to produce multi discipline cost estimates across all project phases
- Strong understanding of cost estimating principles in line with estimating procedures / guidelines and best industry practices
- Review and assure third-party prepared cost estimates
- Analyse actual costs vs approved budget estimate
- Perform internal and external benchmarking to improve and optimize costs
- Present cost estimates to key stakeholders for review and approval
- Participate in assurance reviews and technical challenge sessions to ensure consistent application of estimating standards
- Support gathering of actual cost data from completed projects and other activities for use in creation and regular update of a central estimating cost database
- Review, improve and maintain existing cost estimating model to ensure high efficiency of estimating delivery
- Advanced user of Excel and other industry standard Estimating tools
- Ability to lead and/or facilitate project risk analysis workshops utilizing @Risk or similar software would be an advantage
- Engineering Degree and/or equivalent experience
- Considerable Industry experience in senior and lead estimation positions. General Oil & Gas, LNG and CSG experiences are an advantage
- Fully versed with Cost Estimating principles, techniques, and industry standard tools
- Proficiency with the use of standard office software such as Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint
- Excellent communications skills (including report writing and presentation) are essential
