Senior Electrical Engineer – Newcastle, NSW
Our client is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to work within their facilities located in Newcastle, NSW supporting their operations within the Hunter Valley.
Job Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to provide expert electrical engineering services in support of our client’s operations in the Newcastle area. The ideal candidate will contribute to the successful delivery of diverse greenfield and brownfield projects, supporting clients from conception to commissioning.
Candidates local to the Newcastle area will be preferrable.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver electrical engineering services within budget and on time.
- Manage projects across greenfield and brownfield sites.
- Collaborate with clients to ensure successful project delivery and strengthen relationships.
- Support projects from conception to construction and commissioning.
- Provide technical support, liaise with project teams, and consult relevant resources.
- Monitor and report changes to project scope.
- Assist in detailed designs, equipment selection, and procurement activities.
- Contribute to studies, analysis, and recommend actions.
- Participate in site inspections, design reviews, risk assessments, HAZOPs, and constructability reviews.
What you will bring:
- At least 5 years electrical engineering experience in the resources sector.
- Proven ability to lead a team.
- Proven experience in project delivery.
- Previous exposure to the Aluminium and heavy industries, familiar with relevant codes and standards.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and basic knowledge of other engineering fields.
- Effective time management, budget management, and people management skills.
- A good understanding of Australian electrical standards.
- Pro-active with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent customer focus and able to consistently meet client’s needs.
- Able to work on multiple projects of various size and complexity.
Required Qualifications:
- Recognised Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
