Senior Electrical Engineer
Location: Site-Based, Down South WA
Job Type: Full-time, Agency Contractor
Contract Duration: 12 Months
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. This position involves working on-site at a local mine south of Perth. The role focuses on providing comprehensive engineering solutions, collaborating with site-based project teams, and ensuring the delivery of fit-for-purpose engineering services in line with client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee electrical system design, including LV/MV systems, instrumentation, and PLC equipment.
- Experience / awareness of PLC / SCADA/DCS systems hardware & software, exposure to field instrumentation / field verification.
- Input into electrical estimates and execution schedules, understanding of shutdown planning.
- Conduct engineering design and technical verification of project deliverables.
- Manage and perform engineering services, including preparation of engineering calculations, drawings, and documentation.
- Ensure project scope clarity and compliance with change management processes.
- Participate site visits, project reviews, and safety workshops.
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including contractors and clients.
- Assist in scoping engineering requirements, estimating budgets, and preparing proposals.
- Manage site activities such as equipment inspections, construction, and commissioning.
- Prepare technical documents, procurement requisitions, and construction scope of work packages.
- Provide technical support to junior engineers and manage work packs for workshare implementation.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience as an Electrical Design Engineer in a relevant industry.
- Bachelor of Engineering - Electrical (essential) accredited by Engineers Australia.
- Desirable certifications: Hazardous Area Certification, Functional Safety Certification, Electrical Trade background.
- Experience in electrical and instrumentation design in the Refinery/Mining industry or similar.
- Proficiency in brownfield electrical systems modifications (LV/MV/HV) and instrumentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong understanding of Australian electrical standards and ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
