Responsibilities will include:
- Ensures all estimates are prepared in accordance with estimating procedures
- Supervise and develop support staff such as junior estimators
- Prepares costs for estimates on a timely and cost effective basis.
- Monitor current competitive prices, new techniques and cost trends.
- Provide technical inputs, at project level to ensure timely completion of estimates.
- Understanding and translation of MTO data to estimates
- Apply standards to facilitate the co-ordination and consistency of estimating data.
- Prepare estimates, prices and costing for projects under the guidance of the Chief Estimator
- Prepare estimates for minor projects without supervision.
- Monitor current competitive prices, new techniques and cost trends
- Assist in allocation of the Bill of Quantities for costing purposes
- Use of an effective estimating database / bespoke software
- Maintain up-to-date information on such commodities as pipework, fittings, valves, civil and structural rates and installation rates for mechanical, electrical and instrumentation trades
- Regularly update databases to reflect rises granted by the various statutory bodies
- Significant experience in a Senior Estimating role on a large project, Mining experience preferred
- Thorough technical and practical estimating skills and able to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Worley and its customers.
- Knowledge of the fundamental requirements of the discipline, and the basic requirements of other disciplines
- Thorough technical, practical and leadership experience in the relevant discipline, including experience in project engineering and management with specialised estimating expertise.
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and discipline specific software
- Thorough understanding of Planning and Scheduling across multi disciplinary and large scale projects.
