Our client is currently looking for a Senior estimator to be part of a project based team for a Major Mining Client in Perth. You will be working alongside a Lead Estimator, but may be required to do stand alone work on occasion. Mining estimates being done are from Class 5 to Class 2 and incorporate all aspects of Mining operations, process, NPI, ports. On offer is an initial 12 month contract


Responsibilities will include:
  • Ensures all estimates are prepared in accordance with estimating procedures
  • Supervise and develop support staff such as junior estimators
  • Prepares costs for estimates on a timely and cost effective basis.
  • Monitor current competitive prices, new techniques and cost trends.
  • Provide technical inputs, at project level to ensure timely completion of estimates.
  • Understanding and translation of MTO data to estimates
  • Apply standards to facilitate the co-ordination and consistency of estimating data.
  • Prepare estimates, prices and costing for projects under the guidance of the Chief Estimator
  • Prepare estimates for minor projects without supervision.
  • Monitor current competitive prices, new techniques and cost trends
  • Assist in allocation of the Bill of Quantities for costing purposes
  • Use of an effective estimating database / bespoke software
  • Maintain up-to-date information on such commodities as pipework, fittings, valves, civil and structural rates and installation rates for mechanical, electrical and instrumentation trades
  • Regularly update databases to reflect rises granted by the various statutory bodies
To be considered for this role it is envisaged you will possess the following attributes: 
  • Significant experience in a Senior Estimating role on a large project, Mining experience preferred
  • Thorough technical and practical estimating skills and able to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to Worley and its customers.
  • Knowledge of the fundamental requirements of the discipline, and the basic requirements of other disciplines
  • Thorough technical, practical and leadership experience in the relevant discipline, including experience in project engineering and management with specialised estimating expertise.
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, and discipline specific software
  • Thorough understanding of Planning and Scheduling across multi disciplinary and large scale projects.
