Position Overview:
We are looking for an accomplished Senior Lead Mechanical Engineer with a deep specialization in FPSO projects, specifically in EPC environments. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15 years' mechanical engineering experience, having spent the majority of their career dedicated to FPSO systems and completed at least two full-cycle FPSO EPC projects in a leadership capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the mechanical discipline lead on complex, large-scale FPSO EPC projects from concept through commissioning.
- Oversee design, specification, and integration of marine mechanical systems, including topside and hull equipment (e.g., pumps, compressors, HVAC, ballast systems, rotating equipment).
- Ensure mechanical deliverables are compliant with project specifications, class society rules (e.g., ABS, DNV), and international codes (API, ASME, IMO, SOLAS).
- Interface with multi-disciplinary teams including process, piping, naval architecture, and electrical to ensure cohesive system integration.
- Engage directly with clients, shipyards, and vendors, providing technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead design reviews, HAZIDs/HAZOPs, and other technical assurance activities.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practices within the FPSO marine mechanical space.
- Support procurement processes, including vendor bid evaluations and documentation review.
- Ensure quality, cost, and schedule targets are achieved across all mechanical scopes of work.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering
- Minimum 15 years of mechanical engineering experience in offshore oil & gas.
- Proven track record leading the mechanical scope of at least 2 full-cycle FPSO projects.
- Strong knowledge of FPSO topside and hull mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with global marine classification societies and international offshore standards.
- Experience working in multi-office execution models and managing third-party engineering contractors.
