Role Responsibilities
Reporting to the location department manager, you will be supporting the delivery of technical engineering deliverables and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
Work with the Perth based resource suscap portfolio lead engineer in coordinating and management resource demand from the various sites.
This may include responsibilities but not limited to:
- Coordinate with the resource portfolio lead to align workload with capital project execution.
- Oversee the design and documentation of steel and concrete structures, directing junior engineers from local and workshare offices.
- Scope and develop engineering cost estimates while managing workshare office operations.
- Conduct site inspections as needed and support vendor management.
- Participate in meetings and workshops, including HAZID, design reviews, and constructability assessments.
- Prepare progress reports and contribute to project scheduling.
- Identify project changes and create change reports following management processes.
- Collect data for engineering studies, analyses, and calculations.
- Support technical solution development and prepare final documentation for project deliverables.
- Assist in coordinating multidisciplinary scopes and lead design review meetings with the team and clients.
- Prepare material requisitions and scope of works.
- Engage in bid clarifications, evaluations, and vendor information reviews, finalizing certification activities.
- Collaborate with the structural drafting team to ensure project delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural/Civil Engineering with extensive experience in structural design within the brownfield mining and oil & gas sectors.
- Familiar with Australian design codes and has previously led a small design team.
- Willing to travel regularly to Pinjarra and Wagerup refinery sites.
- Able to work independently or as part of a diverse team, with experience in site inspections being a plus.
- Highly driven, focused on delivery and service, with a strong understanding of local and international standards and regulations.
- Proficient in Spacegass and common steel connection design software, with a willingness to learn new design tools and project delivery methods.
- Familiarity with the alumina refinery industry is desirable but not essential.
- Comfortable using multiple platforms, including the 365 suite and various collaboration tools.
