Our client is seeking a Senior WINTEL Engineer to work within their facilities located in Perth, Australia.

 

The Company

Our client is an ASX-listed company in the midst of a number of highly critical business related IT projects. With several upgrade projects currently underway in their resource’s portfolio, they are looking for Senior WINTEL Engineer to assist with this.

 

The Role

Based at the client's office, you will be working within client's the infrastructure hosting team to manage server, computer and storage.

  • Design, implementation, and maintenance of Windows-based servers, desktops, and laptops.
  • Perform advanced system administration tasks, including user management, security configuration, and software updates on Windows systems.
  • Oversee the integration of Windows systems into the network infrastructure, ensuring seamless domain integration, network connectivity, and remote access.
  • Monitor system performance, conduct in-depth analysis, and implement optimization strategies for maximum efficiency and reliability.
  • Drive the resolution of complex system-related issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies to ensure data protection and system availability.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry trends, and advancements related to Windows operating systems and hardware platforms.
  • Assess and evaluate new tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance Wintel infrastructure and operations.
  • Lead the planning and execution of system upgrades, migrations, and hardware refresh cycles.
  • Ensure the security of Windows systems by implementing robust security measures, performing regular vulnerability assessments, and implementing security patches and updates.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Collaborate with vendors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of Wintel solutions.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Extensive experience as a Wintel Engineer or in a similar role, with a focus on managing Windows operating systems on Intel-based hardware platforms.
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows server and desktop operating systems (e.g., Windows Server 2019, Windows 10), Active Directory, and Group Policy.
  • Experience working with following technologies:
    • Cisco UCS
    • Pure storage
    • Netapp
    • VMware
    • Hyper-V
  • Good understanding of technical Change Management practices and governance.
  • Proven expertise in system administration tasks, including user management, security configuration, and software updates.
  • Strong understanding of network concepts, protocols, and services related to Windows systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues and provide innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to guide and mentor junior team members.
  • Experience with performance monitoring, capacity planning, and implementing performance optimization strategies.
  • Industry certifications such as MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) or MCSA (Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate) are highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
    Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell) is a plus.


This role will be client facing and you will spend significant periods of time on client sites so you must be well presented and have outstanding communication skills.

This role is Perth based and only Perth based candidates can be considered.
