Our business
Our client are a Joint Venture Operating Company, based in Baku.  They are currently recruiting for an SPS Engineer to lead the Subsea Production Systems engineering and design scope during FEED preparation and execution.  Possibly assisting with pre-FEED extension studies.
Role will commence at FEED phase sanction until the completion of the development phase including project close out.  Initially working in the EPC contractor office, then joining the project in Baku.

Key Responsibilities and background:
  • Deep involvement in the FEED scope of work preparation until FEED sanction.
    During FEED, incumbent will be in charge of the performance of the FEED CTR on time and on budget, FEED deliverable submission for assigned scope of work and as well actively participate in the EPC CFT preparation.
  • Reponsible for all Subsea Production Systems from Basic engineering, Detailed Engineering / Qualification / Manufacturing / Fabrication / Construction / Installation / Pre-Commissioning activities performed by Contractor, whilst respecting local content requirement.
  • Review and approve SPS contractor engineering deliverables
  • Coordinate the technical reviews
  • Identify and solve, report technical issues that may arise during all Subsea Production Systems activities of the SPS package Lead.
  • Able to review the design of the SPS systems in compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
  • Able to review calculations, simulations, and analyses to ensure the integrity and reliability of subsea equipment.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimise subsea system performance.
  • Conducting risk assessments and implementing mitigation measures.
  • Apply a system level view and decision making to the following typical activities:
    • PFDs, schematics, block diagrams, field layout.
    • Production assurance/flow assurance.
    • Reliability/availability modelling.
    • Testing and commissioning philosophies.
    • Material selection, coatings and CP.
    • Process safety, protection and risk management.
  • Identify, evaluate and report the key system technical risks, seeking mitigations where possible and populating the risk registers ensuring critical.
  • Liaise with Project QHSES, QAQC, to ensure that the SPS scope is designed to be safe, operable, and maintainable.
  • Assist QA/QC manager for all quality issues related to SPS engineering.
  • To attend all SPS engineering meetings, routine and subject specific, to pursuit Contractor’s resolution and close-out of documents.
  • Ensure that agreed project battery limits are adhered to.

Critical Skills & Personal Attributes:
 
  • Engineer/ Master degree or other relevant and recognized qualification, have a Systems Engineering or Engineering Management background, including detailed knowledge of subsea systems and a significant experience of working in subsea projects.
  • Must possess experience designing offshore Subsea Production Systems to ensure its safe and optimum project delivery as well as reliable operation.
  • Proven Major Oil and Gas international project developments knowledge and experience.
  • Prior experience in Design Leadership / Project Management
  • Solid experience in one or more of the following packages:
    • Subsea Engineering.
    • Flow Assurance.
    • Production Operations.
    • Project Engineering.
    • Hardware package delivery (Systems, Tree’s, Controls, Pipelines, Manifolds etc.).
  • Installation In-depth knowledge of subsea engineering and the relevant best practices, codes & standards
  • Familiar with Marine Operations using Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV).
  • Past experience in Caspian Sea is a plus.
  • Operator experience is highly desired
  • Past experience on FEED and CFT is a plus. 
Language Requirements:
  • Fluent English required.
  • Azerbaijani language skills beneficial.
