Job Description: SPS Systems Engineer
Location: Paris, France
Duration: 12-month contract with potential extensions
Start Date: August 2024
Project Overview: As part of the GPI Venus team, the SPS Systems Engineer will be integral to the engineering activities and technical matters related to the Venus project. This role encompasses the pre-project, FEED, Call For Tender, and EPCI phases for a very deep water oil greenfield project.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead system engineering activities for the SPS system, ensuring compliance with project specifications and international codes.
- Review, approve, and manage all studies during the pre-project and FEED phases.
- Oversee technical aspects during the Call For Tender and EPCI phases, supporting procurement, fabrication, installation, and pre-commissioning of SPS equipment.
- Provide technical support to the SPS Technical Manager and collaborate with the SPS team and other project teams (SURF).
- Promote exemplary behavior regarding H3SE&Q, ensuring compliance and safe working practices across all project phases.
- Enforce company ethics and anti-corruption policies within the project framework.
- Coordinate and supervise all testing and qualification activities for SPS components.
- Manage contractor activities, ensuring technical compliance and addressing any potential deviations promptly.
- Liaise with other project package teams for interface management and coordination.
Activities Include:
- Ensuring all technical documentation and contractor activities comply with H3SE&Q requirements.
- Supporting development and review of technical packages for SPS Call for Tender.
- Managing interfaces with other project packages.
- Participating in project reviews (HAZID/HAZOP, Design Reviews, etc.).
- Supporting the Technical Manager and Subsea Manager in all aspects of the SPS System from tender through project execution.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Master’s degree in Engineering with a strong focus on SPS Systems.
- At least 15 years of experience in large offshore oil & gas subsea projects, particularly in deep-water environments.
- Extensive experience in design, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning of subsea systems.
- Proficiency in English is mandatory.
- Demonstrated experience with major SPS Contractors.
- High awareness of safe working practices and excellent communication skills.
- Willingness to travel as required for business needs both within and outside the country.
