Airswift is seeking applicants for a Remote Contract Structural Engineer to support our client's chemical manufacturing facilities across the US. This is a 1-year contract.


Position Responsibilities & Expectations:
  • Ability to independently develop and apply advanced engineering techniques, concepts, and approaches to unique engineering problems.
  • Has the ability to supervise engineering staff on industrial projects that range from small to large capital size projects.
  • Proactively provides guidance and direction on department design guides, standards, systems, and applicable engineering codes (IBC, AISC, ASCE, ACI, etc.)
  • Experience with civil/structural analysis software (Risa 3D & Risa Foundation preferred).
  • Must be proficient with CAD software and Microsoft Office.
  • Has the ability to produce estimate level preliminary designs and material take-offs suitable for the level of the estimate being performed on a project.
  • Develop conceptual layouts and cost studies as necessary to determine the simplest, most efficient approach to solving engineering tasks.
  • Independently applies knowledge and continuously develop client quality program for CSA department. Establishes related processes and promotes a culture that is conducive to quality. Provides guidance and direction to others and supports continuous improvement and change management efforts.
  • Must be able to perform field work to gather relevant project data and provide construction support as required.
  • Has the ability to develop detailed sketches necessary for completing engineering drawings.
  • Has the knowledge and experience to check calculations made by other engineers to ensure code and specification conformance and good engineering practice.
  • Based remote location.
  • Must have capability of working from home as well as in the office (Mobile)
  • Willing and able to travel as needed for project support (up to 75% of the time)
  • This position will require extensive travel across North America as required to support client projects.
  • Follow the guidelines of client’s travel policy if/when travel is needed
  • Schedule; 40 hours/week (OT may be required)


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with recognized accredited program (ABET) in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Minimum 6 years relevant work experience
  • Licensed Professional Engineer
