System Engineering Specialist – Pau OR Paris, France
Key responsibilities and main tasks:
- Recommendation of DCS/ICSS control and modifications to reduce instabilities due to the process
- Coordination between the site and the control rooms
- Definition of DCS/ICSS modifications required for Zero Flaring projects
- Training of the subsidiary Instrumentalists based at the Port Gentil head office and on site to ensure the sustainability of the actions implemented
- Work in close collaboration with the production and process control specialist assigned to these missions.
ACTIVITIES
? Phase 1 - Analysis preparation
- Collection of process data, DCS diagram & synoptics
- Collection of PI data / PI views
- List of all control loops (PID tuning, PV range, Equation type, output range, setpoint range)
- Check tags available on PI, identify missing tags
- Review of the process control operating philosophy
- On-site and remote control room identification of process operating conditions
- Priority work on the flaring and gas regulation system
? Phase 2 - Analysis
- Identification of process instabilities (versus current philosophy / setting points / control loops)
- Focus (non-exhaustive list)
// First separation stages (liquid and gas outputs) level and pressure control
// Main flare PCVs (setpoints)
// Compressor suction pressure & temperature control (upstream compressors)
// Gas export and injection
? Phase 3 - Setting up for process stability under current conditions
- Preparation of process control adjustment with site and control room operators.
- If necessary, initiate modifications to optimise plant operation in accordance with site instructions and procedures (with the systems engineer)
- Participate in updating and drafting operating procedures and instructions
- Implement actions on optimised regulation
- Monitoring on site and in the control room and estimating potential gains (flaring, prooduction) with the process engineers.
? Phase 4 - Zero Flaring Venting projects
- Identification of the control modifications required for the new operating conditions
- Review and drafting of the new process control operating philosophy
- Preparation of the modifications required to accommodate the new zero flaring projects
- Long-term monitoring of the subsidiary's process control
The experience shall include:
- Qualification: Engineer or Senior Technician in industrial computing or automation minimum
- Languages: French & English compulsory
- Professional Experience: supervision on-site production activities Exploration production.
- Instruments and petroleum process oil / gas / LPG treatment
- Sense of dialogue and teamwork
- Have a good ability to interpret and report events encountered
