We are looking for a Senior Systems Engineer specializing in Project Information Management (PIM) to join the team and support the growing demands of the business in The Hague, The Netherlands.

Job summary:


As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will hold the responsibility of contributing insights to other departments and external partners regarding Information Management aspects during project Study, FEED, and EPC phases. Your primary task will involve orchestrating information exchange amid project teams, stakeholders, and contractors to facilitate smooth project execution.

As a part of the Engineering & Systems team, the Senior Systems Engineer will hold a pivotal position and will report directly to the Head of the Systems Department. The candidate should possess at least 12 years of experience in the field of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC), out of which a minimum of 5 years should have been spent in a comparable Information Management role.


Key Accountabilities:
 
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all information management aspects of the project.
  • Devise and execute a tailored information management strategy for Study, FEED, and EPC project phases. Determine phase-specific information needs and establish effective approaches for data collection, storage, and retrieval.
  • Evaluate client information requirements and generate essential documentation (e.g., information/data management plan, coding procedures, templates, guidelines) for project setup.
  • Collaborate with the Document Management System (DMS) team to establish a robust document control system. Partner with the Systems/ICT team to configure project tools accurately.
  • Design and manage system workflows to facilitate smooth execution across multiple offices.
  • Educate subcontractors on project information management requirements and ensure their adherence.
  • Facilitate seamless data flow by coordinating with various disciplines such as Project, Engineering, Supply Chain, Systems, ICT, and Project controls.
  • Identify and address data quality discrepancies in collaboration with stakeholders providing the data.
  • Offer training and assistance to project team members on information management procedures and tools. Foster a culture of knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Continuously enhance information management processes and systems by staying informed about emerging EPC project information management best practices and technologies.
  • Develop information management standards, data models, and class libraries.
  • Compile and manage Tags and Documents registers, overseeing the accurate sequencing and quality of information from diverse stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliant handover of project information and documentation to the client according to project specifications.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience required:

 
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken, strong English writing skills for documentation and reports, proficient in English speaking for effective communication with teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated grasp of EPC project processes, including workflows and requisites.
  • Proficiency in information management principles, practices, and tools, including experience in overseeing engineering information management systems, IT infrastructure, and project execution.
  • Thorough comprehension of systems and software such as AVEVA, Assai, SAP, with a focus on interoperability and integration among platforms like AVEVA, Hexagon, Autodesk, Assai, Bentley, and SAP.
  • Familiarity with Database management systems like SQL and Oracle is beneficial.
  • Advantageous to possess a solid understanding of Power BI for effective visualization of project data.
  • Knowledgeable about creating and managing class libraries, as well as data handover specifications (CIFHOS).
  • Awareness of Digital transformation trends and emerging technologies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal aptitude, facilitating collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset proficient in deriving insights from intricate datasets.
  • Consideration of a plus if holding certifications in information management or project management.
