Job Title: Underground Safety Manager
Location: Northwestern U.S. (excluding Alaska and Canada)
Contract Length: 12 month
Start Date: ASAP
Overview:
Our client, a key player in mining and infrastructure, is urgently seeking an Underground Safety Manager to lead health and safety efforts at an active underground mining facility. You will be responsible for ensuring that all site operations adhere to company safety protocols and government regulations.
- Oversee all underground safety operations and enforce safety procedures
- Ensure compliance with MSHAW regulations and OSHA 510 standards
- Conduct routine site inspections, audits, and safety meetings
- Monitor contractor and crew activities for safe work practices
- Maintain safety logs, reports, and documentation in line with project requirements
- Work closely with a small on-site team (approx. 4 personnel)
- Report safety metrics and issues to project leadership
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of underground mining safety experience (maintenance project experience preferred)
- OSHA 510 certification and MSHAW knowledge required
- Strong on-site leadership and communication skills
- Ability to start immediately and work in remote conditions
- Experience supporting owner’s rep or oversight teams is a plus
