Our client, a Major Oil and Gas company, is looking for an Warehouse Associate I to work on a 12-month assignment in Linden, NJ.

Responsibilities:
  • Work activities shall include, but shall not be limited to the following:
  • Receive inbound freight in a timely manner: Parcel, LTL, TL, etc.
  • Coordinate inbound direct deliveries with field coordinators and supervisors for field unloading
  • Verify quantity, size, description of material goods against packing slips
  • Visually inspect material goods for part number and manufacture date to match against packing slips and documents
  • Visually inspect material goods for cosmetic defects
  • Pull in-house pick tickets (reservation orders/requests)
  • Issue goods to internal customers
  • Deliver goods to multiple designated drop point areas inside the facility as needed
  • Prepare goods or equipment that need to be sent out to 3rd parties for repair and return
  • Perform administrative functions and document control related to all warehouse logistics
  • SAP functions relating to receiving, shipping, inventory staging and inventory movement
  • Assist in material goods stock returns procedure (attachment)
  • Check and process entries from the afterhours material goods issue log
  • Process new stock requests
  • Work with Company Corporate Analyst
  • Process through SAP: correct description, quantity, manufacture, supplier
  • Establish a valid stocking level
  • Assist with communication and handling of material goods for a quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) inspection for positive material identification and code compliance by: staging, notify when ready, notify release of goods when approved, support quarantine and returns when rejected.
  • Maintain inventory counts, adjustments to bin locations, and consolidation of goods
  • Annual physical count of all inventory (maintained by daily count sheets)
  • Prompt adjustments with changes to inventory shelf locations
  • Ensure all materials are clearly identified with a material part number, PO number, or a designated owner for in plant deliveries or pick up
  • Conduct annual and periodic audits of inventory reports
  • Investigate errors to maintain integrity of the warehouse inventory
  • Maintain an effective inventory analysis to help minimize stock-outs and eliminate obsolete and/or surplus materials
  • Manage a minimum and maximum reorder point
  • Manage a corporate dead stock inventory (usage list)
  • Consult with maintenance supervisors as needed and make recommendations for change
  • Adjust to maintain optimal inventory levels based on plant usage, manufacturer availability, and criticality of all stock materials
  • Oversee the Company critical spares inventory, capital spares inventory and non-capital spares inventory to make sure these parts are handled, as per the Company’s Material Management Policy (see attachment)
  • Ensure security procedures are in place to protect stock from theft, loss, or misuse
  • Comply with Procurement and Warehouse policies associated with ensuring minimal warehouse loss
  • Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance (attachment)
  • Assist the department supervisors in the disposal of obsolete warehouse inventory stock items
  • Asset Recovery: Return for credit or sell through auction
  • Work with the Company Contract Specialist to evaluate non-stock programs such as vendor stocking and consignment stocking of material goods that directly support the facilities daily maintenance and operations
  • Recommends and implements any new or necessary changes to current warehouse activities that will improve our overall efficiency
  • Work a 40 hour week and support emergencies on a 24-hour call-out basis
  • Work overtime as needed to support the facility
  • Lead Storekeeper Specific Functions
  • Manage day to day supervision of Contractor employees
  • Responsible for coaching the warehouse staff and ensuring their training requirements are up to date
  • Responsible for resolving staff disciplinary issues
  • Responsible for ensuring that the warehouse staff adhere to the relevant site work procedures
  • Responsible for submitting incident reports in relation to all incidents in or around the facilities being managed and in performance of the services
  • Responsible for submitting warehouse staff ‘timesheets’ and managing staff holidays and sickness to ensure sufficient manning
  • Responsible for communicating and coordinating the quality assurance of all materials received into quarantine – ensuring the appropriate inspection tests are performed before materials are released
  • Responsible for managing test certificate requirements
  • Responsible for maintaining an excellent standard of housekeeping at all warehouse locations
  • Has the knowledge to perform all SAP functions related to receiving, shipping, inventory staging and inventory movement and can train others as needed
  • Work daily with Warehouse Supervisor to improve efficiencies


Qualifications
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic materials process and warehouse logistics
  • Must have knowledge of SAP material master, materials management, purchasing, and reporting modules
  • Proficient in computer skills with experience in formulating reports and extracting data from various computer programs including SAP, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Displays open-minded thinking to challenge the accepted practice and generate new ideas to improve efficiency
  • Ability to troubleshoot tough problems that arise on a daily basis
  • Read, write and speak in fluent English
  • Communicate effectively in person, on the phone/radio, or in writing
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • College degree preferred (minimum two years)
  • Two-three years minimum experience in heavy industrial warehouse environment
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions
  • Must currently hold or be able to qualify to receive a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) card
  • Be able to wear PPE (personal protective equipment), coveralls, FRC, safety glasses, gloves, safety toe boots, hard hat, throughout the work shift
  • Know and observe safe work practices
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license
