Our client is seeking a Windows Server Administrator to work within their facilities located in Houston, TX for an 8-month contract. The Server Analyst is a contributing member of the Global Windows Operations Team.

Required Qualifications:
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • 5 years’ experience with Windows/Unix operating systems – Windows 2012/2016/2019/2022 with direct experience in diagnostics, troubleshooting, and problem solving for hardware, software, and OS.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager)
  • Understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy and DFS
  • Understand and able to utilize scripting technologies such as PowerShell, Python, Bash/Korn, and any other scripting languages.
  • Experience with AWS/Azure/VMware Cloud platforms.
  • Experience with monitoring tools and requirements for servers.
  • Basic knowledge of network theory, design, and architecture
  • Familiarity of one automation tools such as Ansible, Chef, VMware Aria, Runbooks, ServiceNow, etc.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • High School Diploma/GED

Responsibilities:
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining the operating system and hardware on Windows-based servers.
  • Maintaining and sustaining highly automated server OS patching processes.
  • Participating in following the Sun support for global infrastructure servers.
  • Developing and promoting standard operating procedures.
  • Conduct audits of servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
  • Being available to perform tasks outside normal business hours and on weekends as well as being on call for at least one week every other month.
  • Understanding of Active Directory, Centrify, OKTA, or authentication technologies.
  • Maintain patch compliance requirements of Phillips 66 internal change management system.
  • Setup, configuration, and problem diagnostics of server hardware including RAID mirrored disks, and SAN/NetApp.
  • Conduct audits of servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
  • Being available to perform tasks outside regular business hours and on weekends as well as participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation


Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or other IT/IS related major
  • Ability to work effectively across time zones and geography
  • Understanding of WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, WINS
  • Knowledge of remote support concepts and tools
  • Operations experience
  • Self-starter
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
