Our client, a major Oil and Gas company, is looking for a Plant Operator to join their team on a 1-year contract in Cold Lake, AB.

MAIN FUNCTIONS
Responsible for liaising with the Control Room Technician (CRT) and other Operations Technicians on job safety requirements to ensure understanding of the work objectives, safety, health, environmental, Operations Integrity Management System (OIMS) and security concerns. Responsible for supporting the CRT/Ops Supervisor in providing oversight of the area activities and ensuring they are integrated and conducted in a safe and efficient manner. Works in a crew environment to manage activities involved with safe and efficient operation of all plant units and sulfur recovery operations. Performs surveillance of equipment.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work cooperatively with Contractor personnel to prepare and maintain a safe work environment for their work
  • Responsible for participation in the Operations Emergency Response activities relating to the Area
  • Provide support and coordination with the Systems Completion team in start-up and commissioning of the facilities
  • Take part in the review of work packages for planned maintenance activities within allocated Area, confirms that isolation requirements are applied, and ensures that the preparation of equipment is planned in a manner that provides a safe environment in which personnel can work
  • Endorse Work Permits as the Area Operator (AO) . Endorse Work Permits as the Isolating Authority (IA) when required.
  • Encourages team effort between Maintenance and Operations groups
  • Supports work prioritization to maximize effectiveness and to complement the efforts of other work groups
  • Ensuring the CRT is informed and consulted about operations and major issues
  • Ensures good communication between Areas so that issues can be adequately addressed and actions completed
  • Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping in allocated Area
  • Maintain a daily log and shift changeover notes
  • Safely perform physical tasks at times, e.g. moving drums of chemicals, lifting, climbing ladders/silos/tanks
  • May perform minor maintenance to equipment
  • Maintain a high standard of plant housekeeping
  • Make process changes to ensure quality control of end products that are within accepted standards

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 20+ years’ industry experience in operations, or similar; required
  • Extensive knowledge in production operations/processes
  • Extensive knowledge in P&IDs, PFD’s and UFD’s
  • Able to read shutdown logic diagrams
  • Highest standard of Safety, Health, Environment aptitude and cultivates the same in others
  • Excellent communications (oral & written) in English
  • Excellent interpersonal and motivation skills
  • Ability to interact in a multi-cultural environment
  • Advanced understanding and operation of Emergency Preparedness Procedures

Role Overview

  • Monitor and improve production at well sites using provided vehicle

The Facilities Instrumentation & Electrical Engineer will report to the Base Engineering Supervisor. The Facilities I&E Engineer will support the development and consistent implementation of engineering and construction standards in the design/execution of Base process facility projects (e.g., Facility Debottlenecking, Artificial Lift Conversions, GHG Reduction Technology, Operation/Maintenance Upgrades). The Facilities I&E Engineer will collaborate with representatives of other departments and disciplines to help execute projects from initial concept through commissioning/start-up. The Facilities I&E Engineer will provide the needed support to all existing assets and function as an operations engineering representative on new development projects; this support will range from small to mid-size projects, corrective maintenance recommendations, and the development of preventative maintenance plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with Project Engineers, Production Operations, Maintenance, Environmental, Regulatory, HSE, Planning & Scheduling, Surface Projects, Right of Way, Supply Chain, Drafting, and Third-party Engineering to successfully develop and execute facility infrastructure plans in a changing environment.
  • Providing Instrumentation and Electrical troubleshooting and optimization support to operations/maintenance.
  • Supporting Project Teams, Maintenance and Operations in the execution, commissioning, and start-up of facility upgrades/modifications.
  • Collaborate in the development of scope of work definition, preliminary and detailed design, BOM generation, cost estimating, equipment selection, procurement, and construction cost control for Base Facility Projects.
  • Develop technical specifications, single line diagrams, schematics, and cable schedules; work with Project Engineers to establish cause and effect charts, control narratives and P&ID's.
  • Provide electrical engineering support in Electrical Areas Classification, Arc Flash, Grounding, and Power Distribution Management.
  • Coordinate with I&E Designers (In-house & 3rd Party) in the creation of wiring diagrams, grounding plans, Electrical Area Classification, control cabinet layouts, and I&E installation details.
  • Abide by and support the Management of Change (MOC) Process, including participation in Pre-Start-up Safety Reviews (PSSRs) to comply with the HSE Management System.
  • Participate in Risk Assessment Evaluations and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA).
  • Monitor and report on the progress of Base Facility Projects and track/reconcile actual project costs with forecasts.
  • Providing creative project options to meet critical schedule constraints or cost requirements.
  • Lead and develop programs and standards to support the maintenance of Instrumentation and Electrical equipment in process facilities for Production Operations and Preventative Maintenance Departments within the Business Unit.

We are currently looking for a subcontract manager to work on the construction of a brand-new plastic to oil plant. The site will aim to reduce the use of landfill and recycle plastics that can be turned into pyrolysis oil and gas.

This role would be an immediate start and would be working within a team of two working on the issuing of large subcontracts to a range of vendors. Contract will initially be for 12 months with the possibility of extension. Fluency in German is a MUST.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop, Implement, and manage a portfolio of Large EPCM Package Contracts and Site Services Agreements associated with the Project.
  • Where applicable prepare and Issue tender documentation.
  • Compile tender documentation, ensuring that the package is complete and viable.

  • Knowledge of network topologies and interfaces for Serial, Ethernet, MVB and other industrial communication network.
  • Hands-on development experience of one or more software phases like software development, hardware-software integration etc.
  • Experience in developing in IEC61131-3 software or using model-based development tools like Matlab / Simulink, Control Build etc.
  • Familiarity with real-time, distributed controllers and their functioning.
  • Knowledge of validation methods (boundary tests, equivalent class tests…)
  • Knowledge of validation tools (TestStand, model-based testing tools…)
  • Knowledge of validation Means (Testbench, simulators…)
  • Familiar with software development using model-based development tools like Matlab / Simulink, Control Build for Rail domain.
