Job Overview:
Our client is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to undertake engineering design for brownfield sustaining capital projects in the Mining, Minerals and Metals industry. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on other sustaining capital projects and greenfield design for future major projects.

The role will require the engineer to support throughout the lifecycle of phases from design through to execution, depending on the project scope. All engineers are expected to support design, other team members, and be able to technically peer review deliverables as per their technical strengths.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver electrical engineering services that meet our client, its customers, and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Undertake engineering design and technical verification of electrical project deliverables by others.
  • Engineer a sustainable design considering constructability, operability, and maintainability.
  • Review electrical Safety in Design risks throughout the project lifecycle, be responsible for action and close out.
  • Perform electrical engineering services such as:
    • a. Prepare/assist and as required oversee the production of engineering calculations, drawings, and documentation.
    • b. Ensure all deliverables are checked in accordance with checking procedures.
    • c. Attend site visits as required.
    • d. Undertake discipline safety in design risk assessment for each project.
    • e. Participate in project reviews, HAZIDs/HAZOPs, and safety in design workshops.
    • f. Initiate, manage and supervise engineering assignments with the team; manage coordination and technical integrity on a regular basis as required to effectively deliver engineering services.
  • Assist in scoping engineering requirements, methodologies, and estimating engineering budget for competitive proposals in response to requests for quotations from clients.
  • Communicate effectively and regularly with the project stakeholders/team including the Lead Discipline Engineer, project team and Project Engineer/Manager on design progress, budget, technical matters, quality, and resource planning.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders to grow the business and networks.
  • Provide technical direction and advice to the electrical team and project teams as required by the position.
  • Identify issues and problems; develop appropriate and innovative solutions; and ask for assistance if required.

What you will bring:
  • Recognised electrical engineering degree qualification.
  • 10 + years’ experience in the mining, minerals and metals industry, with experience in materials handling systems, switchboard and MCC replacements, major projects, and sustaining capital.
  • Ability to work across multiple projects and an excellent knowledge of Brownfield interfaces and HV/LV systems.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of the team.
  • A desire for personal development and a keen eye for detail.
  • A focus on quality and performance.
  • Functional Safety TUV Certification beneficial.
  • Hazardous Area Accreditation beneficial.

This role will lead and co-ordinate all the piping engineering, piping design and equipment layout functions to meet the objectives of this project.

Responsibilities:
  • Organise and manage all aspects of the workload for the project team within the parameters of the project schedule.
  • Establish a list of piping engineering deliverables. Control, monitor and progress these deliverables to an agreed schedule.
  • Organise and manage the resource requirements for the piping discipline.
  • Ensure recognised offshore engineering practices applicable to piping design and topside/plant layout are adopted.
  • Exercise guidance to staff in the preparation of piping materials and valve specifications and subsequently ensure purchase to required standards.
  • Apply good interpersonal skills, liaising across the organisation with members of other disciplines and departments.
  • Create an awareness and willingness to work in “break through” and partnering environment.
  • Responsible for appraisal, training and development of personnel within the team.
  • Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance systems.

What you will bring:
  • Minimum of 15 years piping engineering experience, 8 years specifically within a mining industry environment (preferably in Iron Ore)
  • Thorough knowledge of codes and standards and a good understanding of piping engineering practices applicable to mining piping design.
  • Extensive current design experience in piping engineering, piping stress, pipe supports, topsides equipment layouts and detailed piping design, all gained with notable design contractors within the Mining industry.
  • Hydraulic calculation, line sizing for water networks.
  • Selection of pumps.
  • Design of water storage tanks.
  • Datasheets for pumps, tanks, valves and SP items.  
  • Sufficient knowledge of piping materials to guide staff in the preparation of piping and valve specifications and subsequently ensure purchase to required standards.
  • Relevant experience of the associated engineering disciplines of Metallurgy, Mechanical, Structural, and Process systems would be a distinct advantage.
  • Industrial Relations – Conversant with industrial relations as they impact on the partnering contract.

Required Qualifications:
  • A recognised Bachelor qualification in Mechanical Engineering (MIEA).

Responsibilities are but not limited to:
           
  • Be the Single Point of Contact for all matters related to set up, maintenance, administration, system upgrade and troubleshooting of AVEVA NET system
  • Coordinate with the engineering disciplines assigned to the project and work closely with various departments        
  • Establish and maintain the creation of Class Library and can define its structure and mapping techniques in ISM.     
  • Develop efficient data capture, validation, loading and handover work processes to meet Client/Project schedule requirements

  • Be fully proficient in exception handling between AVEVA system with associated Gateways and Client system
  • Have extensive knowledge on AVEVA registers gateway interface with Client system
  • Experience in mapping Company data and document structures to Client structures. Have an in-depth understanding of FEED & Detailed Design deliverables, their execution methodology and their interdependencies with one another.
  • Have previous experience in Engineering Information Management.
  • Possess previous experience of AVEVA Net Portal and ISM development and administration skills on Oil & Gas Projects, with specific reference to Major Capital Projects.
  • Knowledge of Engineering Design software like AVEVA E3D, AVEVA Engineering is a plus.

Responsibilities:

What you will bring:
  • A recognized mechanical engineering degree.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status, preferred.
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications in engineering, management, project management, or supervisory qualifications or equivalent, preferred.
  • Proficient in technical and practical engineering skills, with a track record of delivering quality, accurate, and timely work.
  • Thorough understanding of the essential principles of mechanical engineering as well as other engineering disciplines.
  • Familiarity with relevant local and international regulations and industry standards.

Airswift is seeking a Control System Engineer to work on a Contractor position in Rio de Janeiro with a major Oil and Gas Company.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 
 
  • To liaise with SURF and SPS packages as requested for all ICSS interfaces.
  • To assist Topsides lead on specific transverse topics.
  • Review and comment Engineering documents related to ICSS, E&I, metering (MPFM integration)
  • Shall point the observed problems in the design out and propose alternative solutions.
  • Contribute to the definition of the Commissioning strategy.
  • Participate when requested to gap analysis between CTRs design and Company Specifications
  • Manage all the ICSS (topside and Subsea) and PLC systems related commissioning activities.
  • Attend ICSS and OCWR Factory Acceptance Tests
  • Witness commissioning activities and report to Topsides lead
  • Ensure correct reporting of ICSS commissioning activities and follow-up of punch lists.
  • Assess and audit contractor procedure managing material repair in workshop are well implemented to secure reliable tracking system, follow-up and progress.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS 
 
  • ICSS / control system engineer with solid ICSS strond experience as a minimum.
  • Experience in brown field project and familiar with field operation requirements.
  • Experience or advanced knowledge in subsea control system is a plus
  • Good communication skills, organizational skills and positive attitude.
  • Good English level (minimum of level 3 on the Bright test)
