Background

Our client is a leading offshore contractor in the offshore energy market. Airswift have been engaged with the client's subsea cables and offshore subops business units to support across a range of projects throughout Europe. Due to an increase in workload, the client contacted Airswift to provide qualified engineering personnel at locations in The UK, Netherlands and Germany.

Challenges

At a time when the cable engineering market was busy it was proving difficult to find qualified personnel who were available to commit to new projects. Given the client's head office location in the Netherlands, there was also the challenge of ensuring contractors were being compliantly payrolled whilst working in the Netherlands. On a recent project, the client's UK sector faced difficulties in mobilising personnel due to COVID-19 travel restrictions in place.

amount of cable installation project experience. Whether this be project engineers, planning engineers or project surveyors, our robust onboarding procedures ensured that the correct documentation was collected for each contractor. Through our established office in the Netherlands, we were able to ensure contractors were compliantly payrolled. Our dedicated service team have been able to provide a full mobility service for contractors, ensuring they have the correct travel and accommodation plans in place.

Results

Airswift have become a trusted supplier to the client across their subsea cable business units. We have extended our services to support their office in Germany with finding the best available talent for challenging grid connection projects, such as CWA2 and DolWin6. Additionally, we recently assisted with an offshore crewing campaign for the Moray East project in the UK, where we provided a number of contractors on short notice, ensuring they were safely mobilised in line with current COVID-19 restrictions.
