Jordan Cove

Case Study

Background

The Jordan Cove project consists of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Terminal at the Port of Coos Bay and a 36- inch diameter Pacific Connector Gas Pipeline designed to transport natural gas approximately 229 miles from interconnections with the Ruby Pipeline and the Gas Transmission Northwest (GTN) Pipeline near Malin Oregon, to the LNG Terminal in Coos County, Oregon.

Challenge

Our client needed a partner to support them on the Jordan Cove project with contract and direct hire services. However, the client had specific criteria for their staff, including people with experience in environmental and tribal affairs located in Portland, Oregon and surrounding areas. In addition to our experience in LNG and pipelines and working with indigenous groups and in other areas, the client chose Airswift as their trusted partner for the project.

Airswift Solution

Airswift’s teams in Houston, Texas and Calgary, Alberta worked together to provide various talent acquisition services, including contract hire, direct hire, and executive search. Understanding the sensitivity around the nature of the project in its location, Airswift quickly put together a unique talent mapping tool, which took the required criteria of our client and identified niche talent within Portland and surrounding areas.

Airswift also provided onboarding support, as well as payroll and visa services. Two representatives travelled to the project site to conduct the onboarding process and ensure project delivery.

Results

Airswift was successful in placing 18 contractors and three key executive level positions and continues to support our client on the project.
