As the world recovers from the impact of COVID-19, businesses are struggling to retain talent

More than 40% of the global workforce are considering leaving their jobs this year and according the the US Bureau of Labour Statistics, 4 million Americans quit their jobs in July 2021.

Some of the root causes behind this upheaval include ongoing concerns over job security, unsupportive work environments and employee burnout.

Apart from creating new models of challenges for businesses, the pandemic spotlighted various existing vulnerabilities in the traditional workplace. It also altered the way in which employees think about work and how it fits into their lives.

According to Aaron McEwan, a behavioral scientist from Gartner, this has shifted the balance of power from employers to employees.
