Our client is seeking a Project Process Engineer to work in Port Arthur, TX, for an initial 12 month assignment.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate all activities related to the FEL and FEED of assigned capital projects, including process conditions gathering and validation of input data and project design basis with asset owner/operation team.
  • Lead: Procurement and direct 3rd party engineering service suppliers to complete the development of capital projects (up to EPC gate approval). Ensure time and cost of engineering respect contract upon award.
  • Financial: Responsible for cost and schedule control of assigned projects, technical scope of request for engineering service, support procurement thru call for tender and evaluate technically offers and change orders.
  • Personnel: Project Team Leader coordinating in-house personnel (for multi-discipline projects) and external engineering service suppliers. No direct report.
  • Other: Provide support for all assigned projects through detailed design, construction, and start-up.

Requirements:

 
  • BS in Chemical Engineering, with 10+ year experience on brownfield projects, of 1 to 20
  • Experience in Refining and Petrochemical industry thru FEL-1/2/3 and FEED, both with in-house personnel and by leading a team at 3rd party office. (ie: Fluor, Jacobs/Worley, Keystone, KBR, McDermott, Richard, Technip/FMC, Wood).
  • Fluent on PMI and AACE principles of Project Gated Process, Cost estimation, Owner documentation, Engineering deliverables applicable to a project depending on its TIC and Engineering phase.
  • Competent to gather process data from field and DCS/Scada, perform basic process and hydraulic simulations (Pro/II, Hysis, Pipephase/Pipesim, Flarenet) and interpret results/report of larger/complex.
  • Issue Project Design Basis, Statement Of Requirements, Scope of Work, Data sheets of new process equipment.
  • Develop PFDs & P&IDs (redline mark-up), able to describe process of facilities affected by a project, its operation philosophy, and principles of control philosophy of major process parameters.
  • Able to participate/support HAZOP project in FEED, and able to translate in project scope resolution of HAZOP gaps.
  • Able to conceptualize SIF and C&E matrix. Identify, comment/mark-up modifications by a project on the existent one.
  • Able to perform field walk of process units, including locations accessible by ladder and internal inspection of process equipment (towers, vessels) at fabrication workshop and upon delivery on site.
