Airswift is partnering with a leading Oil and Gas client to recruit an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician IV to join the team in St. John's, NL, with extensive work periods in Ingleside, TX.
RESPONSIBILITIES & COMPETENCIES
- Ensure all electrical and instrumentation (Ex) equipment installations in hazardous areas comply with relevant specifications, local and international codes, and standards to mitigate explosion risks.
- Supervise third-party teams conducting Ex equipment inspections, ensuring thoroughness and compliance.
- Conduct Ex installation surveillance and audit third-party inspection work for adherence to project requirements.
- Verify and ensure Electrical Construction Ex Inspection and Test Records are accurately completed, with all faults recorded according to project specifications.
- Update and validate the project's Ex-Register and adhere to the Project-specific Ex Integrity Assurance Plan.
- Provide detailed reports on findings and recommend corrective actions.
- Manage equipment tracking databases and produce comprehensive reports for surveillance, audits, and inspections.
- Participate in meetings with owners and clients, reporting on quality actions and concerns.
- Handle Nonconformance reports and punch lists from generation to closure.
- Develop project-specific processes and procedures as required.
- Journeyperson Electrician certification.
- Specialized training in Hazardous Areas Ex.
- Over 10 years of experience in quality, fabrication, or construction disciplines within construction yards, with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial role overseeing inspection and evaluation of Ex equipment for offshore installations.
- Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including maintenance software and MS Office.
- Expertise in electrical and instrumentation practices, with a strong understanding of welding, NDE, and industrial painting and coating practices.
- Familiarity with certifying authorities' requirements for subsea equipment certification.
- Proficient in reviewing and approving technical documentation, including fabrication records, welding and NDE data, and material and equipment test reports.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, API 17D, and experience conducting quality audits in a fabrication or construction environment.
- Willingness to travel as required.
