Brief job description:

We are seeking a motivated Graduate/Junior Instrumentation and Control Systems Designer to join our client's team in The Hague. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to gain practical experience in the field of instrumentation and control systems design. You will work closely with experienced engineers, receive training, and be mentored to develop your skills and knowledge in this specialized area. 


Key responsibilities and main tasks:
 
  • Assist in producing and checking instrumentation documentation, including Instrument and I/O Schedule, Location Layouts, Cable Schedules, Loop Diagrams, Cable Block Diagrams, Instrument Hook-Ups, Termination Diagrams, and Cable Routing Drawings (combined with Electrical), among others.
  • Review and assist in checking GID instrument design deliverables to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-discipline departments and equipment package vendors to understand project interfaces and requirements.
  • Identify and assist in addressing potential cross-discipline issues and conflicts to ensure overall design coherence.
  • Learn to produce cable routing drawings using engineering software tools like SmartPlant 3D or equivalent, including cable tray-work and cable sizing calculations.
  • Attend client model reviews to gain exposure to EI&C routing design processes.
  • Support 3D model activities and learn to provide guidance to designers.
  • Assist in producing CAD drawings under supervision.
  • Learn to check the deliverables produced by the team and contribute to maintaining quality standards.
  • Demonstrate a proactive and eager-to-learn attitude in addressing project challenges.

The experience shall include:
 
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic familiarity with engineering software tools is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new concepts and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • A strong desire to kickstart a career in instrumentation and control systems design.
  • No prior work experience is required; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Please note that candidates should be already located in the Netherlands to be considered for this position
