RESPONSIBILITIES & COMPETENCIES:
The role entails both administrative and hands-on responsibilities within the laboratory environment. The primary focus is to support the Lab Coordinator in daily lab operations, ensuring reliable results conforming to ISO/IEC 17025:2005 and QMS standards.
Duties include:
- Overseeing lab safety, environmental systems, and addressing related issues.
- Managing third-party lab data, including invoice coding.
- Assisting stakeholders in projects, research, development, and operational optimization.
- Preparing weekly updates, KPIs, and reports for senior staff approval.
- In-depth knowledge of plant operations and historical data management.
- Expertise in handling lab instruments, troubleshooting, and maintaining inventory.
- Proficiency in LIMS, specifically Thermo Sample, Manager software.
- Drafting, reviewing, and revising SOPs, training lab personnel, and ensuring QA/QC standards.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 6-8 years of lab experience with a strong background in ISO/IEC 17025:2005.
- University science degree (BSc) or technical diploma in Chemical Technology.
- Experience in SAGD and Petroleum Laboratory processes would be a plus.
- Water Testing and Process and Instrumentation familiarity.
