Our Company
We are currently recruiting for a Project Engineer to be placed in Dar es Salaam, TZ and would be on a 1-year contract with possibility of extension. The main function of the project engineer is to ensure the completion of the following tasks:
Job Description:
The Project Engineer with expertise in the design of Oil transmission systems, pumping stations, storage / terminal facilities, will be responsible for monitoring expedite the response to Site Technical Quires and Deviations raised by Contractors from discipline Field Engineering assisting in their completion through the multi-discipline Field engineering Team.

Responsibilities
  • Support Quality group to ensuring that materials, structures, and equipment are delivered, installed, tested in accordance with project’s requirements.
  • Ensure all issued construction IFC documents, information and their revisions are managed to the Construction schedules for execution.
  • Conducting work in accordance with project Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems (HSEQ).
  • Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Control Process.
  • Experience developing and managing multi-discipline deliverables such as equipment lists, and weight control is desirable.
  • Experienced with the interpretation of complex scopes of work, contracts, schedules, and engineering deliverables such as P&IDs and Plot Plans.
  • Has experience of guiding and mentoring other project and discipline engineers in the delivery of work scope.
  • Display analytical and innovation skills to manage scopes of work.
  • Coordinate with Company engineers for timely resolution of Engineering Technical Queries, Deviations, non-conformance, defects, and other technical matters.
  • Manage vendor attendance and close out reports.
  • Provide Daily/Weekly work status reporting.
  • Attend Site Construction meeting as required.  
  • Responsible for monitoring Construction Contractors as-built technical compliance and quality standards are being achieved.
  • Ensure all Master as-built records are maintained by Contractor and approved as per as built document procedure and index.
  • Provide Field Engineering support to construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.
  • Coordination with Company and Contractor to resolve assigned technical problems, where required refer to Home Office Engineering.
  • Support and Collaborate with the home office engineering design team to properly implement design change and provide all engineering site support.
  • Review Construction Method Statement for Engineering HSEQ to ensure delivery and quality of construction work packs.
  • Provide response to Technical Query’s, Deviation Requests, information, and clarifications, submitted by Contractor.
  • Ensure that the engineering response to the Site Technical Queries STQ’S are expedited and Contractors implements changes corrections on site.
  • Support Construction schedule from general Construction by Area to system/sub system completion.
  • Ensure that discipline handover As-Built documentation /Dossier are complete as per project Completion requirements.
  • Interface for Management of Change on Project ensure approved engineering changes are understood and implemented by erection Contractors. 
  • Coordinates activities, collaborating with the Lead Field Engineers, engineering disciplines, and supporting departments to ensure tender and/or project scopes are correctly interpreted.
  • Management and coordination of multidiscipline engineering scope, inputs and deliverables across multiple geographic locations including specialist and high-volume engineering centres.
  • Ensures that the Engineering disciplines comply strictly with the contract and scope of work in completing project activities.

Skills / Qualifications
  • Minimum 15 years of experience of successfully delivering projects as a project engineer.
  • Experience of delivering projects in Tanzania or similar location.
  • Construction experience is preferred.
  • BSc or MSc engineering degree.
  • Experienced in some or all the following Detailed Design, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning in brownfield environment.
  • Site experience in the Construction phase is desirable and would be of benefit.
  • Experienced with project 3D Model.
  • Experience developing and managing data bases for tracking multi-discipline technical queries raised by Construction Contractors. 
  • Coordinate resolution of Technical Queries by Company disciplines and expedite progress. 
  • Experienced with the interpretation of complex scopes of work, contracts, schedules, and engineering deliverables such as P&IDs and Plot Plans.
  • Has experience of guiding and mentoring other project and discipline engineers in the delivery of work scope.
  • Display analytical and innovation skills to manage scopes of work.
  • Participating in Safety Leadership coordination with Construction teams.
  • Proactively develop behaviours and culture of safety first.
