Airswift is seeking a Reliability Specialist to working on a 1-year contract with one of our top chemical manufacturing clients in the Lake Charles, LA area.

SUMMARY
Provide Predictive maintenance inspection and analysis functions for rotating equipment, electrical equipment and furnaces. Also support assigned areas with Maintenance and Reliability Engineering technical support.
NATURE AND SCOPE
The reliability specialist will be assigned to an area or areas of the site to support the assigned Reliability Engineer with PdM inspections and analysis and support with maintenance and reliability engineering efforts.
The Analyst evaluates the serviceability and reliability of existing and new equipment by various specific non-destructive tests and on-sight inspections. The Analyst uses a variety of sophisticated and specialized state-of-the-art test equipment to judge the quality, workmanship, suitability, reliability, remaining life, and safe operating limits of rotating equipment.
The Analyst performs periodic inspection functions for plant equipment. He also performs special evaluations at the request of Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering. The Analyst recommends repairs and improvements and prepares comprehensive reports.
The Analyst specific routine assignments will be:
  1. Vibration Surveillance Data Collection – using Emerson AMS 2140 data collectors and AMS Machinery Health Manager Software,
  2. Oil Analysis Sampling,
  3. Thermographic Inspection – Electrical Equipment, Furnace Tubes and Process Equipment,
  4. Ultrasonic Inspection – Electrical Equipment, Process Equipment and Rotating Equipment,
  5. Supporting field installed Vibration Monitor Systems,
  6. Responding to Field Requests for Troubleshooting, Detail Analysis or Field Balancing Rotating Equipment.
  7. Work close with the Reliability Engineer and support the area Operations and Maintenance folks with rotating equipment technical expertise.
The incumbent must have at least a high school education and strong mechanical ability. He must have technical training and four years of practical experience involving power plant or chemical plant equipment.
The incumbent stays current on new equipment and repair techniques by reviewing trade journals and other publications, attending seminars, and by communicating with Maintenance and Operations to acquire acceptability feedback from experience on previously installed equipment and materials.
The Inspector’s practical experience must be in one or more of the following:
  1. Measuring and analyzing vibration signals, knowledge of electronics and computerized instruments and machine balancing,
  2. Oil Analysis,
  3. Mechanical Maintenance and Repair of Chemical Process Equipment,
  4. Equipment Design Experience.
Effective oral and written communication skills are necessary for this position. The ability to work effectively with peers, hourly employees, and supervisors is required.
The physical requirements include the ability to work outdoors in all climates, climb stairs & ladders, work in high places, work in confined spaces, be “on your feet” all day and be able to carry a variety of job-related instruments and tools.
