Key Responsibilities:
1. The activities deal with worldwide Claims (including Contractor and Company claims and disputes) as detailed below:
- Analysis and review of existing Claims: provide expertise support to projects for existing Claims and corresponding resolution (contracts execution phase / close out phase):
- Advise and direct the projects for “on the spot requests” with regards to management of claims,
- Investigate and assess merit of major claim/dispute,
- Provide higher understanding and recommendations for building the Claim dossiers and corresponding settlement,
- Assist the project in drafting correspondences and notices to Contractors.
2. Preventive awareness (contract management methods, tendering stage and early execution stage):
- Broadcast contract management good practices,
- Raise awareness of the importance of contractual rigorousness,
- Raise awareness of impacts of deviations from standard contracts,
- Broadcast feedback on lessons learned from existing and past Claims,
- Provide guidance in identifying potential Claims at early stage.
3. Assist the Claim manager in:
- Implementing the defined claim management roadmap,
- Defining the method & tools related to claims and disputes management.
- Monitoring disputes trend,
- Negotiating frame agreements with delay, quantum and performance experts,
- Delivering the defined improvements actions.
Requirements:
- Contract and procurement professional with Claim resolution experiences, i.e. more than 15 years in contract management and 10 years projects experience within major international projects, preferably oil and gas;
- Excellent contract understanding and knowledge including tendering, execution and close out phases;
- Good understanding of legal civil and common law system;
- Good understanding of all aspects of the project: planning, time impact, quantum, costs, risk management, project management, technical requirements, local requirements
- Very good understanding of dispute resolution and negotiation process;
- Ability to manage heavy workload in a fast pace and dispute environment;
- Independent thinking, vision, creativity, influencing skills, decision making;
- Ability to interact with high level and challenging stakeholders;
- French & English proficiency
