Responsibilities:
- Provide expert level technical guidance and direction to resolve any issues or challenges encountered during installation, commissioning, or maintenance activities.
- Provides expertise to project team in instrumentation related activities
- Conduct field inspections to verify the quality and integrity of installed instrumentation equipment and systems.
- As a technical authority, responsible for leading, planning, and delivering Engineering solutions and supporting instrumentation and controls team during the construction and commissioning phase of the project.
- Accountable to coordinate with project managers, engineering teams, and subcontractors to ensure timely and accurate installation of instrumentation systems according to project plans and specifications.
- Review and approve technical documentation, including drawings, schematics, and specifications related to instrumentation systems.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of required instrumentation materials and equipment.
- Provide Technical guidance to site query and approve red line drawings to be sent for as built.
- Accountable to provide weekly updates to line manager and project team as required.
- Bachelors Degree in Instrumentation and Controls or Electrical Engineering required
- Professional Engineer designation required
- 25+ years experience in the Oil and Gas Industry required
- Specialized knowledge of transformers, generators, motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), motor control, electrical protection systems, etc.
- Demonstrated knowledge in protection and control systems
- Working knowledge of Smart Completions software from Hexagon is preferable.
- Able to read and understand P&IDs, PFDs, ISOs and technical specifications
- Able to understand and use CMS databases, preferably Hexagon
- 15+ years experience in working with construction contractors at their facility during the building and commissioning of the facilities.
