  • Understand the customer’s business and requirements, both quantitatively and qualitatively and capture this in Design Level documentation
  • Identify, evaluate, and lead the development of suitable concepts and solutions that meet the customer’s requirements/design level.
  • Provide technical support to the sales team in design, estimating and documentation.
  • Ensure proposed solutions address the customer’s challenges cost effectively and competitively.
  • Internally championing solution development, documentation, and proposal presentation.
  • Analysis of customer data to establish design level and identify opportunities.
  • Identify and develop preferred options which best meet the customer’s requirements and are within our capabilities to deliver.
  • Use of simulation tools to validate solutions and test sensitivities.
  • Manage any consultancy projects to meet deliverables and customer expectations within budget.
  • Review of RFP/tender documentation
  • Preparation of proposals and documentation in a timely manner
  • Preparation of systems Description of Operation
  • Keep abreast of the company’s products, solutions, and software and those of our competitors.
  • Assist sales with the preparation and delivery of customer presentations.
  • Assist sales and guide the customer through the solution development process and help build strong customer relationships and company credibility
  • Lead internal and external customer facing discussions to explain solutions and articulate the benefits and value
  • Ensure preparation and submission of proposals and support documentation in a timely manner
  • Liaise internally with the regional and international Systems Sales and Sales Support teams
  • Foster and develop relationships with market partners
  • Facilitate a smooth handover of new projects from sales to operations
  • Participate in initial project workshops and review software functional specifications to ensure delivery to expectations
  • Audit project implementations to measure performance against expectations
  • Support with training & development of new and junior staff to grow capability and capacity of the team.
Key Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualified in an engineering or scientific discipline with International working experience
  • Industry product and application knowledge in Logistics solutions
  • Experience with the application of Automation
  • Experience in managing a consultative selling process
  • Ability to engage and influence customer stakeholders up to General Management level
  • Skilled in Simulation and the use of Simulation software packages
  • Ability to analyse and interpret
  • Ability to logically solve problems, think laterally and demonstrate initiative
  • Ability to understand and explain technical concepts and solutions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer focus and relationship skills
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude with a high level of commitment and determination
